Err..they're world champions?
So?? That's because they're a better team, they have a far better bowling attack. Head to head -

Sehwag better than Langer
Hayden better than 2nd Opener
Dravid better than Ponting
Tendulkar better than Martyn
VVS better than Lehmann
Gilchrist better than Ganguly

So that makes it 4-2 for India.

Also, you are quite awkwardly "cheating"

Suppose we swap Hayden with Langer? Hey they both open. Now look at the ratio.

I was only making a suggestion for TDCC Young Guns choice, anyway since your keen:
Sehwag better than Langer
Hayden better than 2nd Opener
Pontin better than Dravid
Tendulkar better than Martyn
VVS better than Katich
Lehman better than Ganguly
Gilchrist better than Patel
That makes it 4-3 to Australia.
who's better is just a matter of opinion.

Hayden better than sehwag
Langer equals to 2nd Opener
Tendulkar better than Ponting
Dravid better than Martyn
VVS better than Lehmann
Gilchrist better than Ganguly

So that makes it 3.5-2.5 for India

Absolutely ridiculous comparison.

I could do:

Hayden better than Sehwag.
Langer better than 2nd opener.

And that would bring the comparison into 50-50 balance.

:notworthy Good equality there. Langer equals 2nd opener, when we aren't sure who's that 2nd opener. If it's Chopra or Yuvraj, Langer is ahead by a very large margin.

What am I saying? Such man to man comparison is RIDICULOUS.

That's cheating again because you're taking advantage of the instability in the opening slot. Anywayz-

Hayden better than Sehwag (not by all that much, but is better)
Langer better than Yuvraj (Only because Yuvraj has to prove himself, signs look very good though)
Dravid better than Ponting (Both outstanding, Dravid is better in tests)
Tendulkar better than Martyn (A large gap here)
VVS better than Lehmann (A considerable gap again)
Gilchrist better than Ganguly (By a considerable margin)

So now if you eliminate the 2nd pening spot from the comparison, it's 3-2 again, if not it's 3-3 but still India.

3-3, but still India? Explanation?

:notworthy :notworthy You're just about the most modest (if you can call it that) Indian I know on the topic of your cricket team.

What's absolutely ridiculous? Except for the second opening slot, which is unstable ATM. And on what basis are you so confidently saying Langer is better than Yuvraj? If he lives up to expectations then the egg will be on your face, because his talent is clear.

Man to man comparision is completele ridiculous.. Its a team game after all !!
Better comparision could be :

Ind openers (Sehwag/??) to Aus Openers (Langer/Hayden) -- obviously Aus is better
Middle order (Dravid/Sachin/Laxman) to (Ponting/Martyn/Lehmann) -- Ind wins this
Lower order (Ganguly/Patel) to (Katich/Gilchrist) -- Aus wins this
Tail (Pathan/Kumble/Khan/??) to (Lee/Gillespie/Warne/??) Again Aus wins this..

That is why Aus is a better team (This pains me to say this, me being an Indian supporter). Individual brilliance is irrelevant.
