Just a thought i came up with. I think there might be a few problems when it comes to the draft as players may be forced to sign players they cannot afford. eg. Say we are up to the 5th round of the draft, so i have 2 picks left, and i have a remainder of 400,000 to spend. If the 'cheap' players are signed up i may need to spend over my budget just to meet the requirement of 16 players...

Question: Why do we have to give the cost of how much we want to give to our physio and youth development staff? I only ask because if we allocate a certain amount and then find out we need more money to get players we want to trade we won't be able to use it. IMO it would make more sense to allocte your funds after you have traded players.
I agree with Kyle, let say you allocate $750,000 on each then you might not have enough left to make sign on fees. It a bit too early in the season to know which players you want to keep, therefore give sign on costs too. Like Kyle said i think it would be better if we alloacted these amounts after trades.

Another Question: Will the rookies be exempt from the salary cap or will all rookies have a set value say - $100,000?

Related Quesiton: Can the Finance department give a guide to how much money allocated to the youth development officer will equal in rookies? The FD says that at current the figure is $350,000 so does that mean every rookie in regards to finance is worth $175,000 to develop?

So basically I am $98000 over budget as it stands. Great. I have to weaken my squad.

And now with player prices coming in it is almost impossible to get good deals from trades.

I know im annoying everyone by opposing some of this, but hell, im allowed to have an opinion on the matter...

I just don't understand why a description of a good manager has changed from one who is constantly on and trades well, to a person who posts predictable, boring reports. I agree with Cloete...its going to be stupid lol, every manager will be posting match reports about what a great fight the opposition put up and all the good things to take out of the game....

Thats my two cents. If you don't like it, well im just offering the other side of the story...

thats pretty unlikely to happen, just think of the 300 or so players left over from every draft, there will be cheap players, and id be surprised if teams were cutting it that fine in the 5th round of the draft...

rookies will probably be cheaper, blewy will probably chop my head off for saying this, but rookies from now on will probably be much less experienced. this is to make them cheaper and also effect their simming average, by doing this we are lowering the number of freak rookies...

do we have to determine over the next two weeks how much we want to allocate to signing on fee's? It's a bit hard to allocate money at this stage when we don't know how active we're going to be in the trading market.

I know it might sound crazy but do we HAVE to have squads of 16 or can we have other amounts?
yes Ian, squads will remain at 16, however somethings like the ammount of rookies u can recieve may change

8-) That wasn't predictable at all 8-)

Really, do managers have to agree with everything offered at this stage? Besides, Marc said to ask questions, so I am asking questions...

I think it a tad unfair to react like that. Im just showing my view at the moment...maybe a bit harsh to show me the door...

I just did the sums for my side. I am $502,000 over budget, so I decided to have a look at who I would keep and who I would let go at this stage of the season, once I did that and had 10 players I was left with $1,314,000 which IMO should give me 2 pretty good players (or at least 1 very good, and 1 pretty good player) and the rest would fill up the rest of the cap, which is usually what would happen any way.

Yeah mate thats a good point, but once you take trading into consideration I think you will find it much harder to strengthen your team...

Just have to be more selective with your trading.

alot of you people think your all so smart with trading, however if you had a look back i would say that at least 70% of you have got your good deals from new managers who are not up to scratch with the workings of the system... Now i see alot of people complain because they may have to work to build their squad rather then rely on niave managers to gain their advantage....

Before you got sprouting off anything, i am well over budget as well...

Maybe some of you should start thinking of the game rather then yourselves for a change... Especially BOARD MEMBERS, after all it is your job...

you dont have to agree, but what we are proposing will be implement, the point im making is you can make construcive comments and ask questions which will help you, rather than just complaining and disagreeing with what will happen...
we dont have to put up with people who are going to whinge and complain about everything (not saying you do) theres plenty of people who are waiting for the chance to join...
