Runs for Robson, a long way to go but he has to be favourite to be opening come first test of the summer.

So I think it can be safely said that the beard was our best spinner, he's all you need.

KP to play Twenty20 stand and maybe even some championship and 50 over cricket. Not going to do the ticket sales any harm, friday night games at the Oval already did well.

First lions test tomorrow. Big game for all the english involved. Big series for any of them and they could be in the full test team come June.

Shame for the lions team and for Moeen Ali's test chances that he has been called up to the full t20 squad. One of the better batsman especially against spin where he is very positive- plus his useful offspin. Would definitely of been a key figure in these tests. Not sure if he'll play the first one or he'll go home to prepare for the West Indies and Bangladesh. Certainly reduces the lions chances of getting a positive result in the series. Not convinced he'll play or do well for England in the world T20 either.

Vince has had a pretty disappointing winter so far which is a shame as he is the kind of talented strokeplayer who England wouldn't mind slotting into the middle order at some point to offer a contrast to the potentially more gritty options of Taylor and Ballance. He scored a lot of runs at the end of last season but they were pretty dead games with nothing riding on them against average opposition. Didn't do well in Australia last winter either with the lions. Guess he's still someway away from reaching international class. Hopefully Hampshire get promoted this year and he can get some better cricket under his belt in the first division.

In other news Jack Taylor has had the suspension on bowling lifted after testing. Good news for Gloucestershire.

Yeah, kind of agree with you about the Beard, i was happy he was finally picked in an England squad, but not sure t-20 is his game. Not sure he'll get much first-class cricket at Worcestershire to start the season either.

Still as you say, time for the Lions to roar:unsure:

If it is Finch, that's an huge anti-climax. In fact most people would be.

Kallis, Sachin, Kohli or Steyn the only ones to live up to that billing really.

Exactly my thoughts. They certainly building it up big time.

Think they did the same before Kane Williamson announcement though.

Woakes with another failure with the bat on this tour. Not doing his hopes any good - at least as an allrounder. Moeen with the brisk half century.

lol Yorkshire.
Tbf to them, Finch does dominate in domestic T20. He won't displace Williamson (who is on a 2 year deal) from the Championship side, and they'll probably split the Pro40 games to keep them fresh.

He'll murder 70mph trundlers on small grounds.

Stop it Yorkshire, you're just making an exhibition of Thysen now.

Shame Moeen or Taylor didn't go on, the Beards batting was a bit blistering, maybe looking for practice for the t20. Noy sure why they've picked Plunkers over Harris, seems retrograde.
