I'm surprised that Joe Sayers' retirement has slipped through the CW radar. Bad news for insomniacs everywhere.

Zimbabwe at the end of July until the end of August for 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 1 T20. He'll take 60.

Doubt he gets through the season injury free. That or he plays every game of the season but ends up bowling at 75mph - not that he is lightning quick anyway. Still with Coles coming in last season and Abbott this it means they have a bit more oomph to their attack to go with their already strong batting. Even with Mckenzie likely to not return this year the squad looks strong especially in comparison to the rest of the 2nd division which looks weaker than last year. Hampshire should definitely go up.

cricinfo saying the IPL should start around April 10th - week later than last year. Slowly eating into the English season. They'll have already finished one round of championship matches by then.

Very happy with this, exactly what we have needed for the last few years.

Assuming Carberry will not be playing tests and Vince does not make break into one of the England sides at some point then we should have a squad more than capable of promotion, just got make it happen.

Kieswetter up for the IPL auction. Would be amazing if he got signed up and Somerset were left with Barrow keeping and Buttler (who hasn't put himself up at the auction) played against them for Lancs. Please let it happen. Unfortunately Kieswetter's reserve at 150Rs lakh looks too high and I doubt he gets signed up.

England news : Ian Bell breaks ranks with IPL bid | Cricket News | Global | ESPN Cricinfo The other English capped players included.

Not sure if they've released the full list of entries. Wanted to see which random uncapped on the domestic circuit had signed up. Think Azaharullah and Crook have both put their names forward.

Depending on finances I'd have gone for Siddle. IIRC Australia are doing very little/nothing in between their tour of South Africa and their next home summer.

Tymal Mills current economy rate: 16.80
ATM better economy rate than Borthwick though. Great start for Wood, and decent start for the great beard, surely this tour is just the preliminary to him being in the England team next Summer.

Notts already got him. Would certainly have been my first choice.

Still can't quite believe Wood wasn't in the original squad. Absolute lunacy.

Wood ended up with a 5-fer. Probably been mentioned before but SL's team has an interestingly named keeper.
