English Domestic Season 2023

Video seems inclusive. Cox was certainly angry not Carson who shrugged as if to say what did I don.

Wonder if he simply put his name to this on the club or does he really mean it:
“In the heat of the battle during the previous match against Leicestershire my desperation to compete and ultimately win the game resulted in me crossing the line in what is deemed acceptable within the spirit of cricket.

“I would like to apologise to my teammates and to all our Sussex supporters for my actions during the game.”

“I plan to learn from the experience and conduct myself in the correct manner without losing my fierce determination to compete in all fixtures while representing the Club.” -
Jack Carson

Looks like Karvelas in trouble for discriminatory language to Umar Amin, a send off of “send him back to the village he came from”!

Desperate stuff, how can cricketers still be this stupid and ignorant?

Obviously not aware of the context but calling someone a village cricketer is quite a common sledge for someone or a team that isn't very good.
I hope that was all that was intended.

Sadly, I don't think he was calling him a Village Cricketer.

I suspect that Pujara won't be the skipper next year, obviously a nice guy and a great role model, but he's completely lost control of this lot on the field.

Carson was potentially talked up for an England call up as one of the slightly more experienced off spinners around. Must be something in the Sussex culture as Olly Robinson is a fine bowler but an absolute tosspot.

I think the issue is that they've got a talented bunch of youngsters, but there has never been a strong, influential leader to manage them on the field. I don't think they're a bad bunch, they just lose their heads in the heat of the moment at times. Youth and inexperience will do that. Carson's crime here was more petulant than anything else. I blame Travis Head for reneging on his contract last year and leaving the inexperienced Haines to have to lead.

I think Robinson was a tosspot before he ever got to Sussex, his tweets certainly precede his time at Hove.

Surrey so confident against the side propping up the table that they are playing with 10 men?

Being of Greek extraction, Karvelas was doubtless referring to the Arcadian idyll, in which being from a small settlement is a positive thing.
