Probably has good limited overs stats though. Did well in the Aussie T20 opening the bowling.Rashid 2008-2010 : Batting - 1864 @ 38.09; Bowling - 153@32.49
Rashid 2011 : Batting - 449@23.63; Bowling - 37@39.16
Could just be a poor season. All players have them. Probably tear up division 2 next year.Probably has good limited overs stats though. Did well in the Aussie T20 opening the bowling.
Think we can draw a line under him as a Test prospect for the time being.
So you were right and I was wrong - I did it fear that may be the case - still my son in law's prediction may still come goodI have. Got the Bears next week too. Game can seal our relegation and give them another title boost.
Agree, this performance is embarrassing though, real lack of fight, guts or bloody anything, it's been a bit of a shambles in all formats all year.Don't mind them going down kids route but they have seemed gutless on too many occasions this season. I think the talent is there with the majority of them but there have been too many pathetic collapses. Even Rudolph returning hasn't stopped the rot.
Our only hope rests with Hampshire beating Worcestershire. That'll be a no then.
Which would make sense if it weren't for the senior batsmen being chiefly to blame. Bairstow, Root and Ballance have had a far better season than McGrath, Sayers or Lyth. And I know Lyth is young, but hardly inexperienced.Just think it is a case of too many youngsters in the batting line up. Would expect them to come back up and then challenge towards the top of the league the season after as I think the quality is there but not the experience. Mags having a shocker hasn't helped as he was very good last year, might be the end for him this season.
With Brophy playing a specialist bat early in the season there was never much cause for optimism.Which would make sense if it weren't for the senior batsmen being chiefly to blame. This, that scared me and sadly was proven right. With Brophy playing a specialist bat early in the season there was never much cause for optimism.
Would be surprised if he did much elsewhere. Will Gidman, Park etc. got very limited chances but still did okay, he got lots of chances and was fairly rubbish. In not unexpected news, Durham have announced that Ben Harmison will be released at the end of the season. Hope he finds another club, I think he could do a good job for someone in the second division maybe.

Speaking as a neutral, it's been a real shame to see how they've fared given their policy of giving young English talent a run in the side. Hopefully they'll come straight back up. Whilst not wanting to see them abandon their principles, they could do with another Darren Lehmann figure next year - test class but not part of his country's test side.Apart from the young squad, there has been just far to many players that have had virtually zero form all year, you can go through them, Lyth, McGrath, Sayers, Rashid, Patterson, Shahzad and Gale to some extent have all been pretty much gash all year.
Going into the year with a bowling attack of Bresnan, Siddy, Shahzad and Rashid should have ensured a pretty safe year, as on paper it's one of the best attacks around but obviously with the absence of Bres and the poor year that Rashid and Shahzad has had, it's been found wanting.
The batting though which was always going to be a bit of a test, has just constantly failed to put runs on the board. There's been a few good players that have shown up this year like Bairstow, Ballance, Pyrah, Siddy and young Root came good towards the end but apart from that, it's been a huge lets down.
He doesn't stay very long, does he. 4th county in 5 years isn't it?Rikki Clarke is leaving Warwickshire for Sussex it appears. Sussex offered him a 3 year deal but Warks were only offering him 2. I guess if Warwickshire are going after all these players they will have to lose some as well. Done very well for them this year though
