No Saj or Kerrigan for Lancs today - slightly surprised Procter is playing rather than one of those two but understandable that we're worried about where the runs will come from

Buttler, Barrow, Meschede and Gregory all playing for Somerset. Jos looking a veteran amongst the teens.

Half century for Cook. Sayers his usual self at Aigburth. No wickets in his opening spell from Jimmy.

In other news those ****s Derwent Holdings are holding up the redevelopment again

Essex using a novel way of alleviating their batting woes, by selecting fewer of them. If they're not scoring runs they may aswell have more options with the ball to bowl the opposition out for cheaper than what we make.

Good to see they are not persevering with Tsotsobe and have dropped him. Pleased Graham Napier is back in the XI, and Maurice Chambers also gets another go. No Bopara in the middle order may hurt, but Foster and Grayson presumably asking the batsmen to stand up and not leave it to the lower order to drag them out of the mire. Cook's leading the way.

Yes this constant stalling of the development is ridiculous. Hope this appeal is heard and thrown as soon as possible so things can continue moving in the right direction.

3 quick wickets make me approve, fair tail on Yorkshire as well, Sidebottom getting altitude sickness at 8 although he's done well this year.

Yorkshire are ****ed.

Hey, look what happens when you have half a side, arrrgh
Yes it looked a pretty weak batting line-up, and so it has proved. Going to need a pretty special performance from someone to drag them back in it.

Why you would pick that tail at Aigburth beggars belief. I know Pyrah is injured, do Yorkshire not have any other batsmen on their books? Still, I'm not complaining.

You definitely need the extra batting at Liverpool, its why we went for Proctor and left out Saj and the guy who took 7/30 on his last FC appearance or something stupid

Good day, get on to 300+ tomorrow when the pitch will be at its best for batting, roll them second innings and continue our 100% home innings win record. That's the theory anyway

Excellent day for Lancs, only 85 runs behind already with nine wickets in hand. Four more for Keedy, and Maharoof continues to do well, might be a shoo-in for Sri Lanka if they do feel as though they need some experience in their bowling attack.

Am surprised at Yorkshire's run rate, a mere 1.91 rpo, looks like they batted themselves into a bit of a hole, credit to Lancs attack though must have been bang on target for much of the day.

Cider boys 199-7 after a good start, having lost something like 6-90. Bit in this pitch for the seamers, so this might not be that bad a score. Still, a good comeback by Sussex.

Look to have done a very decent job the three Sussex quicks against an under-strength Somerset batting line-up that look like they're really missing Hildreth and Kieswetter. Bowled very well last week against Notts too.
