Lancashire are having a great season in the four day game so far. They've out played every team they have played , even, Surrey, and would be 1st if it wasn't for the rain.

And with Harbajhan ariving soon Lancashire are going to be very hard to beat. However, I beleive the Manchester rain will probably cost them the title this year as it has a few times over the years :(

Lancashire may well be the side to dethrone Surrey. They have a good set up over there with a healthy blend of experience and quality youth. The deciding factor may be the ECB and their failure to extract said players for international duty whilst the current champions often have key players out in large numbers.
Lancashire are my tip for the inaugural Twenty 20 Cup. The weather, in this case, is the advantage; due to the well known climatic conditions in Manchester, the team is probably the most experienced in Duckworth Lewis governed shorter games - this experience will stand them in good stead for the quick fire competition.

Well my team Hampshire, whilst not being the best team in every game is managaing to prop up division two despite only losing one game out of six. Unfortunately Durham got lucky on Saturday and clung on by the skin of thier teeth, and we now have five draws! :!(

Mike Hussey has 3861 runs at 77.22 in the county championship! He also averages 44 in List-A games over here!

As for Cairns, well he's out for six weeks. :(

I have one thing to say about Somerset in the NCL so far this season - utter bollocks :( :(

Can lowly Derbyshire, butt of all jokes, finally bring the Surrey machine to its knees today in the C&G quarter-final?

Mohammed Kaif marked his debut in the competition with an excellent 81, chuck in a useful half-century from di Venuto and a bit of wham-bam-thank-you-for-bowling-your-usual-rubbish-Clarke at the end and the lads ended up on a highly creditable 271.

So, what can danger man Ally Brown do in reply? Walk in, face one ball by Corky, walk back. Early exit from Ward too. 20-2 with Rampers and Thorpe at the wicket. Dreaming......

I feel that, on this terribly sad day for the English cricket media, you should all close your eyes for a few moments and spare a few thoughts for hitherto-unbeaten Surrey County Cricket Club, defeated in the quarter-finals of the C&G Trophy today.

Did I say 'defeated'? I mean 'unfortunately humbled' or 'narrowly thrashed', of course.

Derbyshire 271 Surrey 134

Words alone just cannot express how I feel.

This does, though ::P :P :P :D :D :D :P :P :P

You'll have to ask Chris Hinton. After all, a couple of months ago, I said that they'd surprise a few in one-dayers. His response was not at all polite.

And they made it to the quarter-finals by destroying Glamorgan (undefeated in any one-dayer at the time) and today, just shaded it rather fortunately in a tense affair to make the semis.

Gloucestershire next. I suppose we'll be written off again.

It's ok Luckyeddie i'll support Gloucestershire for you.

Why you ask? well i've seemed to destory Kent and Key this season by supporting them :( , so iam happy to give Derbyshire a massive headstart! :D

One day we'll succeed - only need a few NUL wins and we'll survive relegation in both forms again!

This 20-20 stuff may be the ideal chance for us to get some form...
