LOL - But it's not a floodlit match though, it started at 1:00pm - Floodlit matches start about 4:00pm

Well personally I think Shoaib Akhtar should be taken off!

I mean his 6 overs have cost 20 runs (out of a total of 25!) the other two bowlers between them have only gone for 5.

*Iam joking ok!*

Anyway should be a intresting match report - Oh hang on, iam down to do it

They have?

Based on what?

No matter if it's true or not, he's playing well in One Day Cricket, so I for one don't care!

OK, so you're not the only person with an axe to grind over Warwickshire. Do you ever have anything nice to say about anyone there?

That's actually a rhetorical question - you do not need to answer.

OK, can anyone solve this puzzle?

Given that Derbyshire have one of the more brittle, pathetic batting line-ups in the country (despite the presence of Di Venuto and Kaif), their bowling lacks variety and they are consistently turned over for what seems like an ever-decreasing total in each match (out for 89 today)

HOW THE HELL DID THEY BEAT SURREY?

OK, no answer to my poser.

2nd innings, Derbyshire currently stand at 315-6 - a lead of 127. Di Venuto amongst the runs again (big ton), half-century by Sutton, Corky currently giving it a bit of controlled biff.

I guess I just answered my own question - the rest just aren't good enough, leaving Derbyshire to rely on 4 or 5 players (when's Kaif going to fire? His Royal Lefthandedness was claiming that playing in England would make the Indians better players before the next World Cup).

Kaif must be really **** then because everyone knows how poor the standard is in county cricket. If he can't make uns here, how did he ever get in the Indian side? I mean India must have 100 batsmen averaging over 60, blah blah blah.......

I think when I did the WC Final review, I described Kaif as 'immensely disappointing', but the guy obviously has talent - it just doesn't come to the fore that often.

It seems that (with the exception of Di Venuto) overseas players leave it behind when they come to Derbyshire.

Shahid Afridi was a huge flop when he came early in the season, but Kaif did fire in a couple of one-dayers (most noticably in the C&G quarter-final against the hitherto and subsequently unbeaten Surrey - Clarke lbw b Cork 0 first ball - ah, that explains it).

Come back, Peter Kirsten.

They're not subsequently unbeaten any more! :)
There are times when I wish the ground would open up and swallow me.

Then there are days like today - Derbyshire win, Surrey lose.

Leicestershire and Notts won too, but you can't have everything.
