Listening to Wisden and a they mentioned that they think only ourselves and Somerset possibly have the talent to trouble Surrey.

I think it looks like a very strong Div 1 this year and tbh I have a hard time predicting who will go down. Probably Worcestershire although they performed above expectations last season. Even the likes of Sussex have bowlers of the calibre of Ollie Robinson to call upon.

I’m bloody excited though.

Clark and Drissell to miss out?

Clark maybe at 7 and Killeen to miss out, with Rhodes as the fourth seamer instead.

Was delighted when I saw that, particularly the confirmation of Potts and the fact Coughlin is in there. Drissell and Killeen to miss out for me.

Just got Marty’s first email of the season, so it’s definitely REAL now!! 😎

Disappointed that the BBC service has been massively cut back though, no T20 away games for Marty, no One Day Cup at all. Despite those cuts they’re covering the women’s matches, which I find absolutely ridiculous quite frankly, throwing money away for the benefit of about 17 listeners - but then it’s clearly BBC policy, just look at the fact they’ve fannied on with a women’s podcast on the eve of the County season but STILL haven’t bothered their arse to get the Championship preview up. Every other broadcaster has had theirs up for days.

I think there’s a feeling that counties like Warwickshire and Hampshire have stood still a bit while others have got stronger. Hampshire not signing Abbas was a huge surprise and I think they’ll miss him, as they will Vince for different reasons. Warwickshire haven’t appeared to have strengthened and will also be missing their overseas man Tom Latham who broke his hand recently playing for NZ.

Have to say, if those two do struggle it’ll be a welcome surprise to me, they’ve consistently been ‘gifted’ riches from FTECB despite providing the square route of f***all to the England setup. Much the same way the Sherwood Scabs have been but that’s a whole other debate.

Warwickshire massively relying on the soon to be 36 year old Hannon-Dalby and the soon to be 39 year old Chris Rushworth.

Great to see Drizzle rewarded for his pre season form.

Gone for Rhodes as the fourth seamer then, mad he's batting 6 when he's spent his career in the top 3

Batting all the way down if Driss keeps up his Zim knocks
