Durham County Cricket Club

Disappointing day for Durham, distinctly second best today and perhaps on reflection, shows that yesterday wasn’t so great for us either.

I’ve watched most of it on a delay and have been flicking forward a lot, so can’t really assess it as definitively as yesterday - but it seems like the pitch is very good for batting and we’re about 80-100 runs short of par. Some credit should be given to our lads though, it would’ve been easy to have let it slide and gifted a considerable advantage going into day three, but with the two late strikes and a new ball tomorrow morning the lads have a genuine opportunity to end the first innings with parity.

The first session tomorrow has to be ours.

Our bowling is still a concern, it's very one paced and offering no threat at all. Hoping Doggett comes in and makes a difference next week, cos if not we will struggle to pick up 20 wickets on a regular basis

Not been impressed with Rhodes with the ball, every delivery is short and wide. He does look a bowling downgrade to De Leede in that all-rounder role, but a better batsman.
