The no-ball call in Wellington was contentious because it happened well after the event (in effect, when the ball was dead) and on the advice of the 3rd umpire._Ed_ said:I wasn't impressed with his reaction to the no-ball call for having only two men in the circle at Wellington, that was an absolutely fair call.
I do generally respect him most of the time though, even though he does tend to discuss things with the umpires a bit more than I'd like.
Whilst Im prepared to give Ponting the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was questioning whether this was within the rules, the whole incident would have been avoided had there been the requisite no. of players in the ring in the first place.
