Have to agree with Tom - no doubt we will lose some to inactivity as well.

Mind you I was on record as opposing any expansion to 5 sides because it would potentially leave sides with small squads.

3 of our teams are already struggling for players. Adding another team won't help that

Yes, we won the Ashes, but that doesn't mean we have the better domestic system, because we don't. I think a maximum of 5 teams would work reasonably well however many sign up, plus there's the problem of lack of players.

I think if we get enough signups we should add a 6th team. However, we almost certainly won't, so I don't know why it's an issue. Obviously we're just scraping through with 5 teams now, so unless we get another 20 odd signups a 6th won't even be considered.

it will take a season or two before we are ready for exspansion again. we had the old four team system for about 2 or 3 seasons. lets not get ahead of ourselfs. teams are already strugling to post quality teams

Tbh I don't think we need any more teams no matter how many sign-ups we get. We can always have 2nd XI fixtures of some kind or something, whenever there are enough players available.

Nah not everyone. I reckon we could have a system similar to WCC where teams pick 10 (or possibly more/less) players they have to keep, then the rest go into a draft. Opinions?

The problem there is that WCC players aren't real people. In CW cricket, if you axe 10 players, that's 10 players that may not necessarily want to leave. That stirs up arguments, confusion and the wrong kind of rivalry.

I disagree - for a start, a bye gives the management group a chance to have a breather for a day or so...

A dradt is a good idea. I tihnk it should be for all new signups during the off season and for anyone that wishes to elave their current club. Kinda like the AFL draft were the youngins get drafted for their first taste of footy and people that have been delisted or quit can also be drafted. I like it this way because you dont have to leave if you dont want to and if you think you could get more chances sumwere else then you could have a quiet word to them about them drafting you. and then when the time comes they can pick you up in the draft.
