Its great to have Mr Ponting, one of the best bowlers in the competition in CW Black colours. This only makes the compeititon for bowling places within the side even greater which can only be good for the team as so many players are performing.

Welcome Mr Ponting, and hopefully you can win us many games in the future.

Cheers,

England 'A' 2nd Innings 103 all out
Cricket Web Black won by 116 runs.

Daily Blast Comment: A very impressive victory from the Blacks given it's comeback status. From 178/5, the unlikely hero was BK Smith with his first real FC score of the season. The bowlers took a little while to find their rhythm, but eventually settled into a patience plan and were rewarded with wickets. Frustration came from the England lower order and the Blacks were faced with a deficit, which they probably shouldn't have. Still, like the spirited team they've been all season, the batsmen did enough, led by Smith once more, to post a challenging target for the Englishmen. The real magic was yet to come. England A advanced comfortably to 63/1 and then the Ginger wizard found the rough. In a breathtaking display of legspin, Pickup ripped through the batting lineup of his countrymen and inspired a collapse of 9/41 and his team to victory. The real significance of the performance is seen when it is considered that Pickup had taken just 6 wickets in his last 4 innings of bowling prior to the spectacular 6for at the MCG.

Cricket Web Green 2nd Innings 259 for 5
Cricket Web Green won by 5 wkts.

Daily Blast Comment: One of the great fightbacks in Dev League cricket by Cricket Web Green. From 76/5 chasing 382 on 1st innings, they fought back to win by 5 wickets. Indeed, it was tale of two fights, with the ultimate knight proving to be CW XI skipper Blewy. Blewy's fantastic hundred helped his team to chase 259, a target that was only so low due to the bowlers battling from Australia A at 89/1 to 179 all out in the 2nd innings. Wonderful spirit and desire and a fine win as a result.

Cricket Web Red 1st Innings 277 all out
Cricket Web Blue 2nd Innings 346 all out
Cricket Web Red 2nd Innings 104 all out
Cricket Web Blue won by 238 runs.

Daily Blast Comment: Another massive second innings collapse for CW Red after competing well for the majority of the match. Indeed, when CW Blue was 123/5 in their second innings after Marc's medium pace blitz, it seemed they would have a good shot at a win. Alas, the Blues fought back and their bowlers were on the spot on a fifth day pitch that was hellish for batting. Well won by the Blues, but disappointing for the Reds.

Top notch win Greens again over Aus A !!

Awesome all round performance to win the match..

Sniff .. * Only mistumped Elliott (17) off Darkness - 235/3
* Only dropped Elliott (17) off Darkness - 235/3
Blewy dropped Bichel (14) off Darkness - 154/6
Cloete dropped Bichel (23) off Darkness - 350/6

i desperately need those wickets to start on a much needed form..

Awesome batting by Blewy to get his hundred in 2nd innings to setup a win for the 2nd innings..
And good stuff to the midde/lower order in the first innings all contributing firmly to reach a score of 303..espcially Hoy 60 not out who did very well to support my blitz innings of 62/80 balls, much needed 50.. and i did well getting 4 wickets in the game deserved more :p

Eyes looked fairly relaxed in her keeping and i think she does need to put in just a little more , because those missed opportunities could cost us..

Great win team....i'll admit that i thought we had no chance at 5/76 chaseing 390 odd but we stuck to our guns and rode a great centery from Blewy to the finish line. Great win boys! (oh and eyes too...)

Yet another game, yet another poor showing in the second innings. For the bowlers to let Blue reach 346 was poor, and then the batters didnt help much by... lets say, underperforming in the second innings. However we arnt guns in the 5D form, so its expected.

On a personal note I am dissapointed with the fielding, mainly off my own bowling, Ive copped it on the chin, in the early part of the season, but this game was important that we knocked Blue over cheaply.

* Vimes missed a half-chance of Sudeep (2) off Dave - 96/4
* Vimes missed a half-chance of Toogood (30) off Dave - 119/4
* Vimes dropped Adam (0) off Dave - 264/9
* Kennett dropped StUEy (9) off Dave - 85/1
Take my comments however you want, but how can the bowlers take wickets with people putting them down regulary.

it wasn't a bad showing for us. we're showing that we're a capable side but way to many starts for the batsman. not like i can talk making starts both times then not going on with it!!!
oh well let's keep on powering on let's play for some pride.
