Sam - Obviously i'm the preffered hitter over you ;) (in saying that'll ill most likely be eating my words come the end of the match!)
Hopefully neither will, we'll blast the Blacks out for 140 (thanks to 6 catches and a stumping from yours truly) and the top order will stroll to the target ;)

Some very difficult decisions to make. The top five have been excellent all season, and the decision to order them has been taken on the back of the hope that the openers will be able to explode us off the line, with solid backup in the shape of Smith and Buts. Kearsley's Collingwood-like versatility gets him the number six slot in front of a fairly deep tail, however 7, 8 and 9 have proved their worth with the bat more than once. Superkingdave is unlucky to miss out to Mr Ponting's OD swansong, the nature of the pitch swinging it. He will be fighting Ferd for the right to drive the drinks cart as part of the extensive pre-game entertainment.

GO BLACKS!

Awesome match. We showed why we Blues deserve to be the FC Champions.

Glad too to have played an important role in the victory.

It's been a fantastic season for us Blues, and personally as well, after a dodgy start.

GO BLUES!

Rumours abound that the pitch for the OD final is as flat as the proverbial pancake.

Not a good day to be a bowler methinks.

The CWBCC is investigating the methods used to prepare the surface. The curator, Mr. Akosa Koasa Aakos DeSilva, defends his pitch saying:

"What are you talking about?!? It's an excellent surface for tennis!"

**OD FINAL**
Cricket Web Black vs. Cricket Web Red
SCG

"Flat" is an understatement...

CRICKET WEB RED 368/3 50.0 overs
CW BLACK 372/3 47.5 overs

CW Black won by 7 wickets

Man of the match: C Buts

Daily Blast Comment:
We've either just witnessed probably the greatest One Day chase in cricket history or the greatest farce. Whatever it was, it was certainly entertaining if strokeplay is your fancy. The pitch was stated to be a belter, but in actuality it was more a Heaven/Hell surface - Heaven for batsmen, Hell for bowlers.

Rumours are that there may be an appeal for a rematch.

Wow, what an unbelivable match that was. It shows the depth and quality in this Blacks side is head and shoulders above the rest. Even when the bowlers didn't deliver, the batsmen did and it shows our 'never say die' attitude.

Congratulations to my Black team, also heartiest congratulations to the Reds side. You played like Champions out there and it was an honour in competing against all you guys.

Great work all round.

Batting Paradise for Dev Final

I've been asked by the media to post a little about my feelings on the game today.

When teams have chased over 300 in the past to win, the games have invariably been the most exciting in cricket. This game however was different.

I can tell you from batting out there there was so much room for mistakes, that getting out was almost impossible. The ball was coming off the pitch so true and solid when we were out there batting that it seemed like the pitch had been built on a synthetic surface underneath the original one. We play on synthetic wickets at training when it's wet and this wicket behaved exactly the same. The Black bowling attack especially Neil and MB are very experienced exploiters of anything that the pitchcontains to help the bowling and none of them, nor our superb bowling attack was able to get anything out of it.

Whilst the result will probably stand as a fair one, I question the logic of the SCG curators in preparing this pitch. It can be seen that cricket wasn't the real winner here. Well done to the Black line up on taking out the series u were dominant throughout the year.

and teams that loose can not get players with a man of the match, seen it happen plenty of times.

so you could hit 180 and your team only hits 260 and you get done and the oppositions highest score is 70 but you can not get man of the match cause your team lost!

no broncs
