Arguing with the selectors isn't going to help. You're ruining team harmony. Kearsley is a great player and deserves his spot.
It's not as if we haven't dropped an established player before. Peter Young was sacked after a run of bad form. Rather than complain about the implications of it, he put his head down, scored the runs required and fought his way back. The precedent was set then. This is just continuing the trend. As I said, your career is far from over.broncoman said:my thoughts are you've set the standard now, Dave should be given a reasonable shot at cementing his spot in the middle order and if any of our long term players dont lift their game they HAVE to be out the door. Now that ive been dropped i expect some improvements in the side, im hoping for it but not really expecting it...
I'm still waiting for the justification of that reasoning. I'd like you to go through each player in that XI and tell me why he shouldn't be there. Then justify why a "proven" player who is horribly out of form shouldn't make way to allow an unproved player to prove himself in what is essentially a dead Test in the context of the series.Cloete said:my thoughts are that it was a stupid decision.
Drop someone who isn't proven instead of dropping a proven player.
me too, i might be able to find some form for nsw...Cloete said:Meh. We'll see.
I'm certainly looking forward to playing in Australia though!
Yup. I think my comment on the panel that "Pete's written his name out of Test selection", ranks up there as one of the most silly comments of all time.Mr Mxyzptlk said:It's not as if we haven't dropped an established player before. After a rather long off season, I'm looking forward to it.Mr Mxyzptlk said:On another note, David Kennett and Dave Watt have made their way to England and Australia respectively to take up their contracts.
Why isn't it?age_master said:because this is not the appropriate place to discuss it?
So you'd have kept in underperforming players without giving others a chance?broncoman said:what a disapointment, very short sighted move imo...
Yes, in fact, why not just take 11 players on tour and play them every time, regardless of if they don't score a run throughout?!Cloete said:Maybe it'd be a good idea if we actually didn't drop anyone for a change?
Well I must say it's nice to see the team selected has so much support from those left out(!)broncoman said:my thoughts are you've set the standard now, Dave should be given a reasonable shot at cementing his spot in the middle order and if any of our long term players dont lift their game they HAVE to be out the door. Theres just far too many weak links in the team, i want the team to succed with or without me i just hope the loyalties the selectors obvious feel towards some players dont continue to hold us back...
Ahem..Buddhmaster said:Lol, just let me play. I won't complain when i'm dropped, and then never get another go after getting two golden ducks and getting belted for 10 an over.
Buddhmaster said:Why'd I get dropped!!! two golden ducks and getting belted for 10 an over is no grounds to drop me!!!! this is treachery! I'm lodging a formal complaint.

Is it not relevant to the tour?
because u havent been dropping hints in every post u make in CWxi about how u feel about being left out, rather than letting this drag on slowly over the next month ill get my feelings out in the open now and move one, im dropped, im obviously not playing in the side for the 4th test but i have every right to say what i think. I dont believe ive just chucked a hissy fit, but my comments have generally been somewhat constructive...marc71178 said:Well I must say it's nice to see the team selected has so much support from those left out(!)
I was extremely shocked and disappointed to not be selected for the first Test, especially having played the whole SA series, and proved to be a legitimate option as the 3rd seamer and number 6.
Did I chuck a hissy fit? No, I kept my emotions in check.
You score almost no runs in 3 games, and have this sort of reaction to being dropped when there is clearly a need for change and you've been far and away the worst performer in this series. How would one of the other batsmen have felt if they'd been dropped and you retained?
There is no "I" in "team"
oh good news, i get to play some criket afterall...Mr Mxyzptlk said:Fitzsimmons has also flown to Australia to begin his club cricket contract.
