Lunch Day 1: 60/1 (Young 30*, Wilshere 2*)
Tea Day 1: 132/3 (Wilshere 23*, DeSilva 10*)
Stumps Day 1: 202/4 (Wilshere 52*, Jellett 34*)

It will be Nathan Hoy to take the new ball first up. He has 10 wickets in two games against Blue this season...
- 0.6 Hoy to Young: left alone calmly outside the offstump. An uneventful maiden to start off with.
- 3.6 Warwick to Fuller: defended to the gully... another maiden! That's 4 in a row. The Blues taking this timeless game seriously!
- 5.2 Warwick to Fuller: LOUD SHOUT! Not out says the umpire after a close look. The replays suggest it may have been a bit too high.
- 5.5 Warwick to Fuller: WAAAAAY down the legside. That's a wide. First run for the Blues!
- 6.2 Hoy to Young: he pushes to the covers and they take a quick single! Home. That's the first runs off the bat.
- 7.5 Warwick to Young: punched off the back foot and that races away for FOUR! First boundary.
- 8.6 Hoy to Fuller: SHOT! Driven through the covers and Fuller picks up his first boundary.
- Wilson replaces Warwick for 14th over.
- Pickup is on from Hoy's end.
- 20.5 Pickup to Young: flicked in the air! DROPPED! Richards couldn't hang on to that chance at short midwicket. That's the one that Pickup put him there for. Not pleased at all...
- 23.1 Wilson to Fuller: OUT! Pushing at that one just outside offstump and Butler takes a good low catch at second slip. The Blacks break through, and Fuller has to go.
- 26.5 Pickup to Young: BANG! He slammed that over midwicket for SIX! Now he has some words for Pickup. Pickup not hearing any of it...
- 37.1 Pickup to Young: LOUD SHOUT! Oh wait... he's bowled him! That one pitched on leg and spun past the outside edge to hit offstump. What a ball! Pickup gets his revenge!
- Richards replaces Warwick here, so we'll have a double spin attack.
- Hoy is back into the attack. He'll take it up from Pickup's end. Interesting period of the game now...
- 48.2 Richards to Cloete: down the track! LOFTED straight back! SIX runs!
- 51.3 Hoy to Cloete: loose drive outside offstump, but DROPPED! Dubb-Lynch puts down an absolute sitter behind the stumps.
- 51.6 Hoy to Cloete: TAKEN! This time Dubb-Lynch hangs on and Cloete is furious with himself for attempting the same shot. Pickup will take it, and he motions him off the field.
- 59.5 Richards to DeSilva: BOWLED! He just played completely across the line there and Richards breaks through! Blacks on top now. 4 down...
- 66.1 Wilson to Wilshere: Driven beautifully back past the bowler! FOUR! Terrific shot from the left-hander.
- 66.2 Wilson to Wilshere: A bit shorter and flicked away this time. Great timing! FOUR more!
- 69.2 Richards to Wilshere: chipped to midoff... DROPPED! Hoy misjudged that entirely. He didn't seem to see it early enough, and Wilshere gets a life.
- 72.4 Pickup to Jellett: Pushing forward! DROPPED! That was a difficult one for Blackman at short leg, because it came low and to his left. Still, Pickup voicing his disappointment.
- The new ball will be taken by Hoy. This is a very important moment in the game for both teams, as it will decide the balance of power on the first day.
- 86.4 Hoy to Wilshere: straying slightly to leg' and Wilshere shuffles back and flicks that away. They turn for the second... they get it... fifty to Wilshere! Very well played.

Ben Wilshere 50 (195 balls), 4 fours, 0 sixes

Good stuff from Wilshere and Jellett to last out the day, actually in a pretty decent position now. Not saying anything further. :p

Lunch Day 2: 258/6 (Camps 16*, Halsey 23*)

- 97.4 Wilson to Wilshere: Pulling and it's gone straight up! Hoy under it... and takes it. Wilshere's long vigil comes to an end.
- 99.4 Wilson to Jellett: LOUD SHOUT! OUT! The umpire says he hit it, and Jellett walks away disappointed. Wilson on fire!
- 99.6 Wilson to Halsey: EDGED! Dropped by Hoy at fourth slip. That was a difficult chance...
- 104.3 Hoy to Halsey: EDGED! It bounces away in the gap between fourth slip and gully. What are the odds! FOUR.
- 104.5 Hoy to Halsey: BANGED away! Good shot off the back foot and Halsey looking to get some of those fielders out of the slip cordon.
- 115.5 Pickup to Camps: DROPPED! Fitzsimmons the guilty man this time. He couldn't hold that one low and to his right at slip. No luck for Pickup again.
- 121.5 Pickup tO Camps: OUT! Grip and turn and that one took the edge through to Dubb-Lynch. Again, Pickup has the last laugh.

[Entering commentary-less period to speed up sim.]

Hard working innings from Wilshere. We're in a decent position now with Camps coming in, particularly if the tail can wag, could push up towards 300-350.
