Erm, the ICC table is exactly the same as Neil, except SL and Pakistan are swapped...Mr. Ponting said:yeah well done guys. the teams there are exactly as they should be....unlike that damned ICC table.:!(

You all but said Neil's is so much better, yet at the end of the day there is one tiny difference (and looking at them it is debateable who is better out of the 2 anyway)Mr. Ponting said:I'm sorry marc, but the ICC table has made many mistakes. And i think that swapping SL and Pakistan IS a difference, unless for some brilliant reason it is not.
prophetic words......Neil Pickup said:The thing that it's most likely to do under the Pickup rankings is to give New Zealand a massive shot in the arm and give them 30/40 extra points and bring South Africa into range, possible for overtaking them should the Proteas lose the Pakistan series.
The Bangladesh series will reduce the England average by approx 20/30 (see previous posts for reasoning) and keep them in a solid fourth.
Thats good neil, except i think you mean NZ have hit 1000+ for the first time mate.Neil Pickup said:HOME TABLE
1 Australia 1246
2 South Africa 1101
3 India 941
4 West Indies 907
5 (+1) Sri Lanka 845
6 (-1) England 826
7 New Zealand 768
8 Pakistan 644
9 Zimbabwe 356
10 Bangladesh 33
Sri Lanka's efforts in holding New Zealand are rewarded, so highly are the Kiwis rated away from home.
AWAY TABLE
1 Australia 1761
2 New Zealand 1308
3 South Africa 1091
4 England 1005
5 Pakistan 919
6 India 639
7 Sri Lanka 637
8 West Indies 260
9 Zimbabwe 190
10 Bangladesh 0
No changes, except in value - NZ hitting 1300+ for the first time.
OVERALL TABLE
1 Australia 1487 (-42)
2 South Africa 1096 (-41)
3 New Zealand 1022 (+28)
4 England 921 (-46)
5 India 800 (-16)
6 +1 Pakistan 789 (+54)
7 -1 Sri Lanka 754 (+3)
8 West Indies 565 (-2)
9 Zimbabwe 268 (-5)
10 Bangladesh 15 (-4)
The table continues to correct itself as more of the possible matchings are played out. As well as the obvious reductions in England and Australia's scores, the big winners are Pakistan, whose excellent win against South Africa also dents the Proteas. New Zealand cut the gap between themselves and second place from 143 to 74 thanks to their draw in India, who themselves are within range of improving Pakistan.
Nope, I mean 1300+ as that comment was based on the Away Ranking :PMr. Ponting said:Thats good neil, except i think you mean NZ have hit 1000+ for the first time mate.
Oh ok i have a thing for missing stuff like that, thanks.:PNeil Pickup said:Nope, I mean 1300+ as that comment was based on the Away Ranking :P
Jay, it takes very little time to update if you can write spreadsheets to do it for you. 8D
that is just a terrible exploitation of that smilie...Neil Pickup said:Nope, I mean 1300+ as that comment was based on the Away Ranking :P
