who's jones anyway? i dont think i've seen him post in this thread. i'd take Cribb over Jones. His bowling is more than handy.

and Cribb I think I opened the bowling in the last match because i didn't get much of a knock with the bat.
Looking at the players we have though, you opening the bowling makes tactical sence...

Well, my innings has just cost you $75,000...

yes a few quite expensive shots there, good to see you putting in for charity :)

plenty of 6's being hit all round (9 in our most recent game) so it looks like i will be donating quite a large amount of money :)

Not enough boundary hitting in the Spinner XI innings......and it cost us.

Good to get a few wickets now though....starting to think maybe I should concentrate on being a batsman. Then I realised that all I can do there is block and/or play and miss! :p

Number 11 doesn't bat and gets 3 overs, number 10 gets a bat but 1 over...

Meanwhile the opening batsmen bowl 18 between them.

And I thought that this was all about giving everyone a go?

Must say, very happy with the efforts behind the stumps, 0 byes and 0 D/C's - I believe the efforts as a whole was paramount to the team winning. My batting was also outstanding, and I believe I should open more often.

[/Dizzy mode off]

Great game boys - Top bowling from the first 3, and Adam - your climb up the batting order proved to be the right one! Well done mate.

It's exactly the problem forecast when so many games in a league style were scheduled.

Rather than being a bit of fun with everyone having a fair chance, it's become more winning obsessed.

Surely you're not asking to feature more in the team, Marc. Given that you've spent enough time to score 155 runs in 3 innings at an average of 155, as well as bowl 12 overs in the 4 games. In a team full of allrounders, that's not half bad.

That number 11 has batted at number 3 and number 2 in his 2 previous innings. Surely he won't be too offended by getting a stint at the bottom. If Cloete could do it without whinging, I don't see why others can't...

I fully intend to give everyone a go, and have made a decent effort at it so far:

RJ Malone - batted at #1, #2; 5 overs in 3 games
I Markus - batted at #2, #3; 12 overs in 4 games
G Nayak - batted at #3, #6; 16 overs in 3 games
GN Nayak - batted at #4, #7; 16 overs in 3 games
BC Cunningham - batted at #1, #5; 30 overs in 4 games
MJ Robbins - batted at #6, #6, #10; 12 overs in 4 games
LA Camps - batted at #7, #9; 15 overs in 2 games
SE Fuller - batted at #4, #5, #8; 17 overs in 3 games
JB Brown - batted at #4, #9; 19 overs in 3 games
CP Thompson - batted at #2, #5, #10; 23.3 overs in 4 games
AP Cloete - batted at #1, #3, #11; 14.5 overs in 4 games
NR Hancock - batted at #1, #7, #8; 17 overs in 3 games

Sorry if this isn't perfect enough for you, but I've tried to place an even spread of duties whilst keeping the Allrounders competitive enough to hold the interest of the crowd.

Nah mate, they were happy with what they saw... :D

Great batting effort, Adam 100! Whoa. Entertaining stuff. Great to watch the `keepers batting unfold as well, very interesting match. Though I don`t think the crowd was too impressed with the 20-minute celebrations when "S Jasotharan c DJ Watt b NL Patrick" happened. In our defence, it was a big moment for us...

Great series so far, a thrill a minute, and that`s not just for the spectators.

Yeah. You don't get wickets too often these days, do you? :p

Heh, well I figured if Neil can score a century against the wicketkeepers, I better damn well get one too. :p Thanks PY. :D

Who's talking about winning some kind of league? So far you're the only one I can think of. Keep in mind that you seem to be the only one taking anything seriously in all of this. I think maybe you should lighten up and stop caring about your own game, as that's not in the spirit of charity. Have fun :D! It's all good, Marc. To ensure you keep in good spirits, I'm inviting you to join in on the drinking competition to be held before the next lot of games. Anyone else interested? :D

Surely logic would say that those who bat up the order bowl last and those down the order bowl earlier?

That's the way it's been done in the past - rather than opening batting and bowling with the same people...
