International Captain
Would have:

1. AC Gilchrist (WK)
2. CH Gayle
3. KC Sangakkara (C)
4. ST Jayasuriya
5. AN Cook
6. M Yousuf
7. A Symonds
8. B Lee
9. DL Vettori
10. MG Johnson
11. SL Malinga

New ball to be taken by Lee and Malinga. Couple batting out of position, but still, fair batting line up imo.

Michael Clarke (Aus)
Kevin Pietersen (Eng)
Ricky Ponting (Aus)
Mohammad Yousuf (Pak)
Jacques Kallis (SA)
Michael Hussey (Aus)
Mahendra Dhoni (keeper) (Ind)
Shoaib Akhtar (captain) (Pak)
Muttiah Murlitharan (SL)
Mohammad Asif (Pak)

I think this is like the best team you can get from the given players( not trying to put down other teams) in terms of balance between batting and bowling. It would score 300 easily, and with four best bowlers at the moment, other teams would only manage around 200-225 in that range.

Only 10 men, there.

Akhtar your captain?

Shoaib bowling. Muralitharan misfields at mid-off. Shoaib grabs non-striker's bat and frisbees it at Murali knocking him out cold.

I know what you mean, but I think to get the best out of some players, you have to give them the extra responsibility. Besides, I'm not a big fan of Ponting's captaincy, and Shoaib Akhtar is my favourite player as you can probably see

Ridiculous that Hussey is at 7, but that was his fate in the Aussie team for quite a while, and once you slot KP in at 4, there's not really any other way to get him in...
Ridiculously bias team

Cant see how any of them dont deserve their place....

As for mine

Hayden
Gilly
Tendulkar
Ponting
Pietersen
Symonds
Lee
Bracken
Bond
Murali

Tough on Hussey and Clarke but any more Aussies and it pretty much ceases to be a world team

Also is this over the course of their careers or just current form, because on current form Sangkkara is probably in front of Gilly.

He's an excellent bowler but not as good as Bond, Lee and Bracken in the format imo. But as Matt said (edit: actually he didn't), he's just injured too much for me to consider him for these things. I'm, not sure if we'll ever see him play again with such debilitating injuries.
Injury is why Flintoff's not in my team. Plus his dire batting these days. He's simply not the player he was two years ago.

Bull**** it is. The fact all those Australian players merit a spot in the world eleven is why we've won 3 WCs in a row and are the best ODI team by a huge distance. Out of interest, which Australian players do you think don't deserve a spot? BTW, did you see I amended it later in the thread to make room for Tendulkar, leaving out Hussey?

Just cause you've got the best avatar on the site doesn't mean you can make untrue allegations of bias y'know? :p
