Cricketers you have probably never heard of

Came across this player when I was looking at Clive Lloyd's last test match. Bob Holland took a 10-fer, won MoM, and played a big role in inflicting an innings defeat on an ATG team. Never heard of him though.

Neither have I.

But he also seems to have scored 35 runs in 11 tests, which Seems impressively low to me.

Was robbed of a ton in that game by Border's dumb first innings declaration.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti (https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/kamlesh-nagarkoti-1070188)

Bowled at nearly 150 in the u19s but has hardly played since due to back problems

On the bright side, he’s had a couple of IPL contracts based largely on that

Steve Whitfield (https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/steve-whitfield-8216)

Club teammate of Peter Taylor ( https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/peter-taylor-7926) considered by most to be the better bowler

Finally given a fc debut when he was about to retire

As a West Australian who enjoyed playing club cricket as an opening bowler, I can recall many W.A. quicks who others may not remember or have even heard of.
Apart from the obvious players who played multiple tests, I can recall Ray Strauss (139 FC wickets @ 24.29), Hugh Bevan (121 @ 34.99) and Peter Capes (124 @ 31.66). Des Hoare played one test but took 225 wickets @ 26.91 and Ron Gaunt played 3 Tests with 266 FC wickets @ 26.85.
Before I arrived in Australia, Charlie Puckett was a fine fast bowler who took 158 FC wickets @ 25.58. He was instrumental in Western Australia winning the Sheffield Shield at their first attempt, in 1947-48. When they needed to beat Queensland at Brisbane in their final game, he bowled unchanged for nearly two and a half hours, taking the last five wickets for nine runs in six overs as Queensland collapsed to 130, and finishing with six for 48. Puckett was then 11 days from his 37th birthday and he kept delivering for WA until he was 42. In those six seasons he bowled more than a third of their overs and captured almost a third of their wickets while 23 other bowlers shared the workload. When the ball lost its shine and hardness he would switch from fast-medium swing to slow-medium off-cutters and quickish off-breaks, always prepared to "bowl till my arm drops off " as he had promised his captain, Keith Carmody, at the Gabba in February 1948.
Puckett deserved the nickname "The Iron Man".

Does anyone know the story of CE McLeod, australian test cricketer during the 1890's. ?

What about AE Hopkins, who played 3 tests for Australia on the famous 1902 tour of England ?

Been reading a bit of history and had never heard of these blokes before.
