Haha, I remember years ago telling you that I thought that Katich would average 50 in Test cricket by the end of career. Reckon if he didn't get dropped for Symonds for Sri Lanka all those years ago he might of; was never as dominant a player after that. The way he dealt with the Indian attack in 2003/04 at the SCG suggested he'd be a real force to be reckoned with, he never looked the same player at the crease after that. He just looked so assured and hit the ball so cleanly, not the crab-type batsman that finished.Katich hard done by, fitting end to his career really as he's never really appeared to have the rub of the green. Much underrated player who would have played 100+ tests if luck hadn't intervened.
At the same time I'm sure everyone can see where they're coming from. Katich has always seemed a 'take one for the team' sort of guy and I had a suspicion before the Ashes that if things went well he might've retired after Sydney anyway to make way for Hughes.
Are you saying that you want it or that you think it will happen?I've got a hankering for Dave Warner in the ODI team.
There, I said it.
Unfortunately he really was the victim of some shocking selection calls early on in his Test career, which meant every time he returned to the team he was a bit more steadfast as a bat. He became a real nuggety, hard edge, unfashionable player who always seemed to be playing for his spot rather than an attacking batsman which he really looked like he would make his mark as. Reckon it had a huge affect on him mentally and the way he played the game.Katich got an amazingly raw deal because of his style. He was good enough to get 7000ish runs in 100 Tests @ 50.
I'm saying I want to see it if he can improve his one day game to the point where he warrants selection. Are you saying that you want it or that you think it will happen?
Dude get over it, Cheeqs aint coming back. Forget about him changing his one day game, his whole technique was ****.I'm saying I want to see it if he can improve his one day game to the point where he warrants selection.
Just out of interest, you got footage of Katich batting in the 2003/04 Sydney Test vs India...Dude get over it, Cheeqs aint coming back. Forget about him changing his one day game, his whole technique was ****.
Prove it, ****.Dude get over it, Cheeqs aint coming back. Forget about him changing his one day game, his whole technique was ****.
Thanks mate. Was at the ground, great innings to watch.Should have some sitting around, actually, someone else has beat me to it

Was my first thought when I saw the cricinfo headline.Either that or this is the longest revenge attack in history and Clarke is the most evil and petty captain since Mark Taylor.
Considering what major test series we have coming up in the next 9 months, Hilditch is right on form by talking about the Ashes 2 years hence. He must be holding someone higher up than him right by the short and curlies as he appears to be the most irrelevant person in CA and that is really saying something.but this is what they do. Decide on a team 12 to 18 months out from the Ashes and then stick with it no matter how well they are going. Worked well last time...
