Pretty much this, Clarke and Taylor were probably the worst deviation though from how good theyre supposed to be.

I think he was trying to, just realised he was playing down totally the wrong line, tried to adjust in a hurry with the bat coming down at an angle and was beaten by pace.

There was some poor cricket strokes and average batting between both sides, but Watson after getting himself in to play a lazy shot like that was far worse than any other dismissal. Like you said at number 3 with 48 overs or so still to play never play a shot like that, the laziest stroke this world cup for me.

todays crap innings thread goes to eoin morgan. ugly swipe, cut shot straight to the fielder. a shot of the man under serious pressure for his place in the team, after this disastrous world cup campaign. the timing off the shot was absolutely horrendous, just before a powerplay, and strike rate of the innings was pathetic 57 strk rate. he soaked up a lot of balls giving no net return for the team.

No way. You don't pick the side Australia has and then get upset when your opener who struggles to make his state Shield, makes 14 from 7 against a good bowling attack.

BTW, if you want your top 3 to bat around, Australia are without doubt picking the wrong team. Someone like Michael Klinger should be our opener.

I disagree. He was having an ugly hoick across the line. A real d grade social cricket shot.

Choosing to bat was a complete prank-decision too, put them at a big disadvantage before a ball had even been bowled. England would have had a better chance with 10 men and no captain.
