Not sure, but...

Both of them retired on the same day - 16th March, after having played 15 years for their country.

John Wright in 1993, and Patsy Hendren in 1935.

but there is one intresting similarity between them which is related to playing not retiring

Here's another guess. Both of them were the first players for their respective countries to score a century against all nations their country had played against then.

This is the record: Maximum runs scored off a single delivery
England's Percy Hendren against Australia at Brisbane in 1928-29 and New Zealand's John Wright against Australia at Melbourne in 1980-81 scored 8 runs of one ball (which includes four boundary overthrows) In ODIs: The maximum runs of a ball is seven by West Indian Shivnarine Chanderpaul againt India at Singapore in Sepember 1999.

Cricinfo doesn't have any Percy Hendren on their record.

Only two Hendrens have played for England - Denis Hendren and EH "Patsy" Hendren, according to CI.
