Can Cricketweb make a strong cricket team?

It sounds like there are some bowling options out there, with K_P and some others i believe.

Who knows what could happen..

Yeh i could bowl for the team. Fast/medium outswingers if thats needed. However i do believe we would get belted

i think on our day the CWXI could get 100 against bangl, but they would score over 300... I probably wouldn't make it in the team, but i would enjoy a net practice with you all...

I wont make it either,but will show my talent to my coach neil pickup so if Blaze as an all rounder struggles he could have a good option which is me replacing him<:

Haha, no way I`d make it, certainly not with the likes of Rich around. I think he`d have to be the best player on CW.

I`d love to see a typed XI happen here. Where do you bat Rich? It looks like there are many talented Kiwis here, and Mr. Italiano. Pretty much anyone representing their country would have to be in the team. Applications anyone?

I think I`d probably be in a CW 3rd team (can we go that low? :p ) as against class bowlers I`d be lucky to survive ten deliveries and that leaves me with my 115-20km pace, which I`m sure would be slow-ish in comparison to you gun CW pacemen.

I think cbuts would be the best if he is in the firebirds training squad. How good is Rich?

I think he`s trained with the Somerset 2nd`s. That`s good enough for me :cool:

Thats a pretty high level folks. 2 spots down from NSW Blues. I played some 3rd/4th grade in the Brisbane XXXX comp a couple of years back when I was 16.

Yeh im currently on the brink of the first grade team for the waca district comp, having played 2 first grade matches last season. Almost playing at the same level as Sean Ervine.

I might be rubbish, but I know some really good players, does that count? :p

I know a 14-year-old who scored 58 two weeks ago against a team of adults, all of whom have represented Sussex at some level between Under 19 and senior (the Sussex Martlets), plus I know a 16-year-old Sussex Under 19 fast bowler I've already told some people about.

I also used to know a guy who once scored 101* and took 9-25 in one game, at the age of 9 - don't know how good he is now, but he did score an unbeaten century for Eton school a few weeks back so he can't be too bad.

My school hosted the "Finals Day" of the Langdale Cup Twenty20 competition for Sussex schools - a guy who has 12th manned for Sussex, Michael Thornely, scored unbeaten hundreds in both the semi-final and the final. Believe me, he is something special - he scored them against two of the top teams in the region, Eastbourne College and Lancing College. I watched the second one, and it was chanceless off about 40 balls, he finished on 128*.

I'll get all of those guys to join the board, then we'll be pretty good. :D

I've seen some Sussex Martlet players who are distinctly none-too-special, certainly never going places to first class level for sure!

I dunno where Nath got Rich playing Somerset II from, cos he didn't even finish his season in his School 1st XI...

Yeah, the Sussex Martlets were rubbish apart from one batsman (an ex-captain of our school 1st XI) and their opening bowlers - but the opening bowlers were the ones the 14-year-old opening bat got most of his runs off. He batted very well. We (I say we - I wasn't playing though) beat them by 6 wickets, with a team including two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old, and they were crap, but the kid's achievement is still pretty good considering the bowling he did face.
