They make a truly hilarious couple. People who don't know anything about boxing must assume that he's her bodyguard.
And what a freaking bodyguard he would make. Dr Steelhammer right hand of ****ing justice.

Ariel's the best.

Paulie's a moron. After all the **** he talked a couple of years ago about Conor, what did he really expect? He's been treated the way he has for a reason. They've brought him in to make a point and make him look stupid. Got him straight off a flight into sparring, only allowed Conor's authorised photographers. no video cameras, all set-up to get the right shots to make Paulie look bad and Conor look good. Then they knew that off the back of it Paulie would come out, chat **** and help build the fight some more. It's amazing and couldn't have happened to anyone more deserving. Team McGregor have played this perfectly.

While it's awesome for press I wonder if they were worried that Paulie would leak what he saw to Mayweather. Aren't they both good friends? It's a fun idea to call him in the beat him up and piss him off for the media coverage that would cause but is it worth the risk of having his techniques and strategies revealed?

Also all the stuff about the kind of housing they were set up with and the sparring schedule does seem a bit concerning. I'd have thought Conor would take better care of those helping him out.

Malignaggi is exactly the type of guy who REALLY could have helped him out, instead of the idiots Conor seems to surround himself with (I'll never forget that Ido Portal halfwit).

It doesn't matter of course because the fight is not competitive. Malignaggi is not going to leak tactics. No boxer would do that.

Connor wasn't going to download 20 years of boxing wisdom in 4 weeks anyways. Heck even from the day the fight was announced he didn't have enough time to learn enough to actually best Floyd.

He is much better off using Paulie to help him sell more wolf tickets IMO.

How has this made him sell more tickets?

Don't people buy tickets on the premise that the fight is competitive? Hence why they were desperate to put up pictures of the "knock down"?

Nope

People buy tickets for the drama. Because it's the thing everyone is talking about. Because they know it's the thing everyone will be watching at that time and will be talking about once it's done.

Don't underestimate the power of manufactured hype in selling an event to casual fans

Agreed.

Also, Paulie was never brought in to help either. He was brought in to prove a point and make him look stupid for the comments he made in December. That's why the first pic that was released was of Conor with his hands behind his back, it directly relates to a comment Paulie made when talking about Conor. This whole thing has been set-up to counter Paulie's comments and get revenge on him.

If true that is one of the most pathetic things I've ever heard. Who could imagine a professional fighter having such thin skin and being so petty? Conor McGregor doesn't understand the point of trash talk?

nah. That's bullshit.

I mean, short clips out of context are very easy to make someone look good.

But yeah. He knocked him down. Impressed.
