Best Players of Spin

Lara wasn't bulletproof even against Murali and Warne though he overall conquered both spinners.

By his own admission, he had trouble reading Murali when he first got to the crease. You can see an example here where Murali has him in a lot of trouble.

As for Warne, Warne occasionally got his wicket by encouraging him to play loose outside off and sometime got him in the rough.

Having said that, even the other best players of spin I am sure would have their moments of trouble. Laxman pretty much was owned by Warne in the 2004/5 series for example despite destroying Warne in 2001.

A criminally underrated player of spin was Saeed Anwar. The guy scored against both Warne and Murali, home and away, and Kumble in India. Really destructive, willing to go out of the crease, excellent at the late cut and willing to take risks.

Warne rated him very highly.

Anwar was a genius. Stylistically in the company of Lara, Martyn etc

You're at it again. Nobody is completely bullet proof vs any variety of bowling but most importantly, Lara has the results. But keep on with you narrow minded agenda.

I already said Lara conquered them, so what's the issue? Just demonstrating it wasn't as one sided as folks here imagine.

We know that, and we all had moved on past it (I assume) except you who just had to bring it up again with a pointless video. But carry on....

Many here don't know that and think it was one sided.

The video is just a demonstration because if I said Lara struggled against Murali fresh at the crease, fanboys might not believe it. It's relevant to share.

It was one sided. Lara may have had issues with murali but utterly dominated their series together. Who the f cares if he beat the occasional edge or whatever....

So you're saying it doesn't matter how Lara actually plays against Murali or Warne in determining if he is the best player of spin?

First of all, I said Sehwag is the best plsyer of spin. 2nd of all, he played them just fine. You're using snippets to try as usual to make a stupid point. You can find snippets of literally anyone and do the same. At the end of the day, he dominated both and especially Murali in his own back yard on his own tailor made wickets.

So lara was uncomfortable vs pace, spin, medium pace , Raju, Kumble, Murali etc and what else? So he just lucked his way to his outstanding record. Get a new hobby !!!

Those snippets are just proving Lara's own point that he needed a bit of luck to survive Murali at first before he got comfy. Some posters here present him as a sort of invulnerable god against spin which is an exaggeration, that's all. Need to demystify him a bit. It's interesting context.

At the end of the day, Lara is a ATG bat we all agree and the best 'in the zone' player ever.

He is a g vs spin. What exactly is you damn problem? He destroyed the 2 greatest of all time. But again, continue with your stupid agenda.

tbf he is not gonna go ahead and say "lol Murali was my bitch I stomped him everytime we matched up.", he is just being respectful to Murali while also explaining the difference between how the two GOAT spinners.

Dude stop taking these things so personally. Nobody's perfect and Lara's flaws make him more interesting as a bat.
