Keane takes 3 in the 41st and Abdul Kadir knocks the last over in the 42nd. Bushpigs 215 all out. Lancashire win by 93 runs.

There you go Nibbs, unexpected win, but it throws the group winners spot wide open, with the winner of scaly vs nibbs in with a chance

Spin Bowling: proficient useless
Fielding: respectable mediocre
some tidy ratings for my lads against scaly. i must admit, it was quite a satisfying result after we lost early wickets. once again duggan proved his absolute class scoring 130, and willetts chipped in with his second 100. with daves victory we should top the group and head into that top 4 which should give us a game in hand in the playoffs, and a week off!

Stop complaining Scaly... have you ever thought it might be that you're a incredibly bad tactician? From what I can gather, you still manage to struggle with a much better team. I can't say I have the same problem, and I don't think you'd find many people who do.
The game is completely devoid of any tactics, it's trial and error til you find the right combination and then when you've done that it makes 0.0001% of a difference. For instance this season's ideal strategy consists of:

TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11
TIE first 11

Brilliant. None of the players have dropped below energetic come league match day. It's no-brainer stuff, horses for courses doesn't apply in this game either - for instance spinners seem to be just as effective relatively speaking on something like a green pitch as they are on dusty. Then you've got people who open with a good spinner and the game then rewards this tactic - I should point out that I don't blame the people for exploiting the stupidity of the game here. Rejigging the batting order is pointless, changing the aggression of batsmen and bowlers makes a bit of a difference up to a point (like when someone on very attacking decides to score 60 off 120). If tactics played a part in the game you wouldn't see so many teams end up unbeaten in their division, you wouldn't see the team with the better ratings winning virtually every game.

interesting. after a quick glance at the tables looks as if robertinho select xi, or the college dropouts will finish as the top qualifers from the prelimenary rounds. i'm not 100% sure, as there are still games to be played and the final net run rates have to be calculated but its looks like the cw cup section will look something like this -

College dropouts vs. Whenuapai CC
Robertinho Select XI vs. AA for President
------
Asterix XI vs. bushpigs
VCC vs. Boggles

nb: this is not official, ffs

Ouch - in hindsight I probably didn't need to play my best XI (well, best XI minus Cuss anyway) but in my defence it was a must-win game. :p

Very happy with the win suffice to say, was hoping for a big innings from Wynand and got one. Badley was impressive as well. Very pleased with my bowling ratings, and batting wasn't too bad considering Cuss didn't play.

Good to see Hooky after 2 weeks breaks from league matches take 6/21 off 8.2 on a flat deck.

The sad thing is that those ratings weren't too bad for me, considering my rather crappy morale and fitness.

This weekend for the 1 & 2 finishers. Everyone else has a 'spare week' - I think Hoy's Holy XI vs Vindscreen VIpers is the one that needs to be played. Not sure who's home or away though.

Rob! We want fixtures. I would work it out myself but I don't have the runs scored/balls faced data so I can't be sure that it will be correct.
