Battle of the Wrestlers

Sting conquers Malenko with ease, but the other battle is a tie - as with the previous round's tied encounter, the next vote from anyone, whether they have already voted or not, will decide the outcome between Andre the Giant and Christian.

Obviously I'm not going to make that vote come from me, so off you go, wrestling public.

Haha, way to make an impact, 99*. Andre the Giant goes through.

Welcome to the forum by the way, 99*. :)

Round 2, Battle 15:

Weighing in at two hundred and twenty five pounds, from Cameron, North Carolina.....'The Rainbow-Haired Warrior', Jeff Hardy!

Going heart over head on the first one - love RVD and he's probably the more talented, but I'm a huge Hardys mark so Jeff gets my vote.

Then the second one - no contest for me. Eddie all the way. One of the greatest of all time. I never saw enough of the old ECW to see Raven at his best anyway, I just remember him as a WWF midcarder feuding with Crash Holly and Steve Blackman over the Hardcore title.

very easy round for me, RVD is comfortably better than Jeff Hardy at pretty much everything, and was used terribly by the WWE for the majority of his tenure there. And awesome as Raven was he couldnt compare to Eddie.

You're right about RVD being terribly used - but then, with the exception of Mysterio and perhaps Eddie at a stretch, which former WCW or ECW employee who defected after the Invasion angle has been well used by the E? Vince loves ****ing all over the memories of WCW and ECW, so it's no surprise. Real shame RVD decided to **** up his own WWE title reign though, we'll never know what would have happened otherwise.

I thought Booker T (just about, though buried towards the end) and Goldberg were relatively well used, but I cannot think of a single ECW employee who has done anything of any note. Shame really, as guys like Tajiri who were awesome in the ring were just relegated to being jobbers or stupid heels most of the time. You could argue that Y2J was well used, though equally you could formulate the argument that he was wasted a lot of the time, depending on which side of the coin you look at.

Actually, you are right about there being several WCW guys who have been well used. It's easy to forget just how many guys have WCW history, really. But yeah, ECW was a better example. Every time RVD got over huge, his momentum would get crushed by someone more WWE through and through.

Usually HHH, somewhat unsuprisingly.

Haha, indeed. Before you can say "time to play the Game", he's pinned three midcarders in two minutes and beaten the tag champs in a handicap match, all the while managing to rub it in on everyone else that he gets to go home to Stephanie McMahon every night.
