Looks like Chappell's was a really important innings, but I think I'll have to go for Butcher. One of my favourite innings.

Whatever it takes!!!
Chappell... I have to vote for my coach.......:D

But I think Chappell's was more important, though Butcher played an awesome knock.

Butcher for me. In retrospect it looks like Gilly made an insanely generous declaration, but as I recall it didn't seem it at the time. Australia were v gung-ho for a whitewash & think they were pretty confident (understandably so) of pulling it off. Absolutely superb innings from Butch, really didn't know he had it in him.

Chappell's looks like a very good innings, but rather overshadowed by Massie's star turn.

Instead of taking 2 random innings and voting, shouldnt it be such that each member takes 1 inning and gives reasons as to why that innings was great. some results in these votes just do not seem to reflect the better innings. Dravids 233 was always better than Waughs 63* as Dravid got his runs against a better attack than Waughs and came in at a sitaution when only a very few people had expected India to win that match after India were 85/4 as compared to Waughs innings when came on a 1st day pitch in tough batting conditions. Both innings were great but Dravids innings is known to be one of the best innings played by Indian batsmen and also compared with Laxmans 281. Sometimes, Dravids 233 had been rated better than Laxmans 281.

Gonna have to go with Butcher. He won the match for England, but it was Massie that won that first game for Australia.
