Battle of the Test Innings

Xuhaib

International Coach
Hey Cassidy,
Try to put innings of similar character against each other so people can make a more reasoned judgement. for e.g Hanif vs Deano or Fredricks vs Astle:) .

LongHopCassidy

International Captain
Voting closed. The eldest Mohammad grinds it out, 8-1.

Next up (and I imagine Xuhaib will like this scenario):

Brian Lara 277 v Australia, SCG, 1992
http://aus.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/1992-93/WI_IN_AUS/WI_AUS_T3_02-06JAN1993.html

vs.

Stan McCabe 232 v England, Trent Bridge, 1938
http://aus.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/1930S/1938/AUS_IN_ENG/AUS_ENG_T1_10-14JUN1938.html

Two flawless innings in ultimately futile undertakings. You be the judge.

"If we hadn't run him out he'd probably still be batting!" - Shane Warne on Lara's knock

"Stan, I'd be a proud man if I could play an innings like that." - Sir Donald Bradman to McCabe

Lara here, scored those runs out of not that many relatively speaking!
