Tough one. Really tough one. Deadly has the superior average, but did bowl for part of his career on uncovered pitches. Kumble is famously more effective at home but has almost certainly won more tests for his country than any other bowler.

Tough battle. I'll go with O'Reilly. Grimmett was perhaps a more destructive bowler but his higher bowling average against England (toughest competition at the time) lets him down.
