Battle of the Nincompoops

Pedro Delgado

International Debutant
Drunky for me. He's probably a really top fella down the pub, just wish he'd show it more on the field a la Sir Fred.

Virat Kohli (c)
Ponting for me. I'm taking the term 'arrogantly stupid' to also take into account his ******* attitude and whinging, not just tactics and mistakes he's made.

Awfully tempting to vote the other 2 though, particularly Sohail. Tough round this one.

Sorry if I sound like a 'duh' but who is Drunky

Sohail. Considering his actions on that day (and throughout his career frankly), I find it laughable that he's criticizing Inzi these days for Hairgate. How about look in the mirror Mr. Sohail before asking others to display sound on-field judgment?

Inzi - some of his running between wickets over his career provides a dictionary perfect definition of nincompoop! :)

I'm not overly familiar with the Sohail incident, so of the two other contenders whose work I am aware of I'll have to go with Punter. Without wishing to sound like a sanctimonious old duffer unduly, I consider his conduct way below that which I'd consider appropriate for the Australian captain.

Yep, Ian and Greg Chappell and Steve Waugh will be spinning in their commentator/coach/stay at home dad's chairs! :)

To be fair to Ponting though, he didn't order Mick Lewis to bowl underarm towards the end of that defence of 434 :p

Showing his lack of tactical nous...

Ponting wins 6-5.

NEXT UP

Inzy for his handling of Pakistan's protest at Oval

versus

Ganguly for his handling of his problems with Chappell on tour (leaking the news to his favourite reporter back home in Kolkata for a start)

Inzi hands down. Flushed an ocean's worth of sympathy for Pakistan away at a stroke.

That said I don't think it was Inzamam's decision not to reappear, but as the captain he must carry the can.
