Battle of the Nincompoops

Saleem 'Sneaky' Malik sneaks through 8-7. Speed is left far behind at 2.

Next up

1. West Indian selectors for the 'inspired' choice of Chanderpaul as captain.
2. Dean Jones for his 'off the air' remarks
3. Tino Best for being made to look like a fool by Flintoff's England

No contest for me: Deano all the way. Yer Windies selectors weren't exactly overburdened with choice during the sponsorship contretemps & Tino was really more of a sucker for allowing himself to be wound up by Fred than a bona fide nincompoop.

Yeah, definitely between Deano and Tino here. The Tino Best dismissal is really one of the funniest you'll ever see, as he got so absolutely played. I've defended the severity of Jones' gaffe before, but there's no doubt it was incredibly, incredibly stupid, even if it was supposed to be off-air.

I reckon Tino would have won a few matchups in this comp, but I'll go with Deano too. Mind you, IMO much of his commentary is nincompoopery in general, but that may just be me.

Yeah, it is. But entertaining all the same.

Forgot about this thread. Anyway, Dean Jones for this round.

P.S: Malik should have won the last round handily!

Jones

Without me having to trawl through the thread, did any of the guys (Eng, SA etc) that were caught smoking weed in the WI get nominated?

13-2 to Jones. (sorry for the disappearing act once again)

Next up.

- Inzy for his consistently maintaning his running-between-the-wicket-standards thorough a long and eventful career and his propensity to falling over himself, his bat, his stumps...a blade of grass and so on.
- Ponting for his 'arrogantly stupid' captaincy over all.
- Aamir Sohail for his misplaced arrogance in showing the Venky where he would hit him and being showed his way back to the pavillion the next ball AND losing the match in the process.

Oh this is a tough one. I wanna say Sohail for that incident and his xenophobic attitude towards Woolmer.

Though its unfair to say he lost the match. Pakistan threw away a perfectly good start. Actually no, an awesome start.
