The third place payoff between him and Richards should be interesting, not the two players i would have thought been rated 3rd and 4th in the World, but its good to see Lara get so far.

The second greatest batsman after Bradman, and good enough to take the new ball alongside Wes Hall and Charlie Griffiths when bowling seamers, and also be one of the most prolific spinners of his era. Quite simply, the only cricketer who comes remotely close to Bradman.

On a seaming pitch, you have Imran, McGrath and Sobers to utilise.

That's not too far off my all-time world XI either. I'd bring Gilchrist in for Flower, and Greg Chappell in for Brian Lara, and I think I'd be inclined to maybe drop Richards for another seamer on occasion, but it's certainly a very good team.

Not personally, no. Marshall was a great bowler, but I rate a couple ahead of him. I would however have Richard Hadlee in my team, ahead of either McGrath or Imran.

Lara , I know Sobers is the better cricketer but there's no player in world cricket that I like watching more when in full flow.
