I have to go with Sachin Tendulkar He's got a better record than Richards against all teams and in all countries. Not to mention, he is also the most succesful ODI batter.

Its impossible for me to vote for Sachin, well almost. If it were just about any other player (bar the obvious Bradman and Sobers) I reckon I would have voted Sachin.

But Viv Richards for me. Really horrid match-up still relatively early in this comp.

Hard choice, but I never enjoyed watching Tendulkar as much as I enjoyed watching Sir Viv.

Funny really, all the really stiff match-ups we've had & one of these two (no disrespect, but neither really from the top rank of players) will make the last 16.

I find it pretty hard to assess Richie as solely a player in exclusion from his other great contributions to this game of ours, because the man is a living legend. However, I think when one weighs up all aspects of his game he probably shades Da Silva.
