Oh, gosh. I dont want to do this. Especially dont want to choose between trumper and oreilly. I guess will go for Victor Trumper

Any call to split Tiger & Trumper is going to be fairly arbitrary I suppose. I'm just going to go for Trumper tho, as he was the second acknowledged master of the game after the good doctor and quite probably Australia's best batsman before Sir Donald forever settled all arguments.

As Brumby said a very difficult decision. One of the most brilliant batsmen ever vs one of the greatest spin bowlers of all time. Will go Trumper for fanboy reasons.

Really close battle as Trumper edges out Tiger 6-5.

Final eight:

Shane Warne
Greg Chappell
Dennis Lillee
Ricky Ponting
Adam Gilchrist
Keith Miller
Steve Waugh
Victor Trumper

Will be starting round 3 soon and I will try to keep the battles within 48 hours. 24 hours is obviously too short.

As much as I love Waugh (well as much as any Englishman can), I'm going for Trumper. I'm of the opinion that the most one can reasonably expect of any sportsperson is that they're the best of their contemporaries. With a near-universal consensus most writers grant that accolade to Trumper & I don't think one could say it of SRW without a lot of caveats.
