I'm not usually one to give sympathy votes, but Woodfull doesn't deserve to get pantsed here, so here's one for him.

Lies, Damn likes, and ? How many tests has he played IN India Vs Pakistan and Sri Lanka?
He has played 18 tests overall in the subcontinent.

8 tests against India @ 12.28
2 tests against Pakistan @ 89
6 tests against Sri Lanka @ 50.11
2 testsagainst Bangladesh @ 95.50

So what was a lie? The only place he does badly is in India. In the others he averages 50+ and in all the rest an average of 65. The subcontinent is not just India alone.

You're right, of course. But Ponting could average 200 over 150 tests and there are some who'll just knock him anyway.

Miller BTW.

Harsh on AB and Old Jack, two bona fide legends of Aussie cricket. But there's only one choice here - Nugget.

Border

As a bemused onlooker (who's not read through the entire thread), can I ask why each round of comparisons is between players of different types (here, gritty batsman v extravagant all-rounder v bearded keeper)?

I struggle to see how any meaningful comparison can be made.

Anyhow Border gets my vote because I saw him play and he was bloody good.
