Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

BoyBrumby

Englishman
Not true, just because he had personality clashes with some teammates doesn't make him a poor human being at all. This seems like a myth that's getting out of control.
Was more referring to his systematic and near lifelong attempts to blacken Larwood's name by labelling him a chucker and the fact he went to his grave without ever admitting the source for the leak from the dressing room at the Adelaide Oval during the Bodyline test was him.

TBF, Larwood was the one trying to kill him and his teammates. I can't imagine that Trevor Chappell would be on Brian McKechnie's Christmas card list either.

Dramatic finishes, but the New Zealander probably not related to Ernst Vettori wins 15-14, while AB de Villiers takes out the last of the 16 wildcards with a 13-12 triumph over Anil Kumble.

Battle Sixteen

Douglas Jardine (1900-1958)

1,296 runs in 22 Tests for England
Devised Bodyline, aggressive leg-side bowling, which was outlawed shortly after its use to beat Australia in 1932
Scored one Test century - 127 against the West Indies who employed similar tactics

Imran Khan (1952-)

3,807 runs and 362 wickets in 88 Tests for Pakistan; 175 ODIs
Pakistan's greatest cricketer, paired world-class bowling with useful batting, then became a world-class batsman in his late career
Pakistan cricket captain in three terms, first interrupted by injury and then retirement; led his team to the 1992 World Cup and a drawn Test series in West Indies
21 years of international cricket

Jardine seems destined to come up against captains.
