Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

zaremba

Cricketer Of The Year
Patsy Hendren: These Australian fans don't seem to like you much, Douglas.
Jardine: It's ****ing mutual.

Have to go with Jardine, the all time greatest cricketing villain.

It's not well known but after the final Test he could be overheard saying to Bradman:

"Don, I am your father..."

Norwood's on Fire
In general I agree. But aren't you prepared to modify your attitude when the player in question is Jardine? CW's 50th greatest player of all time, ftr.
I don't expect young cricket fans to know who Jardine is tbh, or even any form of casual fans. The beauty of this place is how much people can teach to newcomers to the game, telling them they aren't a cricket fan if they don't know certain things will drive people away more than anything.

Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
Imran 15-14.

Nasser Hussain (1968- )

Known mainly for captaincy, he led England between 1999 and 2003, with four series wins in a row
Nevertheless, lost the Ashes heavily and struggled to put up big scores

Viv Richards (1952-)

Never lost a Test series as captain

Nasser. Gave us our self respect back and invariably good value in the comm box, not something you could always say about Sir Vyvyan.
