Um why is their no Bangladesh/Aussie thread series?,btw looks like CA has canned it before its happening on Dfat security information.Maybe the Aussies will be playing Matador cup.
Ya it will be disappointing if this series doesn't happen...Reminds me of 1996 World Cup when Australia refused to play in SL on security grounds

Yeah kind of selfish of them to want to stay alive so bad
Yeah especially given all cricketers playing in that 1996 World Cup in SL died the worst kind of death...Jayasuriya's and Aravinda's bats and Murali's offspinners killed them literally

The fact is that Australia was gutted at Jagmohan Dalmiya for snatching the right to host the World Cup (in the subcontinent for the first time) and this was their way of getting back at him.

This time the security concern is probably about the security of their ICC test ranking, which is in danger of worsening when they lose to Bangladesh.

Must be the test ranking thing. That whole terrorist angle is just ridiculous.

Why would they care about their lives?

So sad that all Indian and SA cricketers who played recently in Bangladesh have all died too. And noone ever dies of terrorist attacks in Australia.

Nah, the decision to not play in SL in 1996 was a dog act, when most other teams played there. Same with the current Bangladesh scenario, where Pakistan, India and SA have recently played. Is Australia trying to say security concerns are in third-world countries like Bangladesh and SL only, and not in their own?

The difference between this tour, and the India/RSA ones, is that they've found a credible threat here. Combine DFAT coming out and saying "there's a credible threat to westerners/Australians in Bangladesh", the UK finding the same thing/putting out 'do not travel'-type warnings, and ISIS (or someone else) shooting a random Italian bloke dead in the streets and, well, I can understand wanting to review security before flying 15 high-profile, internationally-recognised cricketers over there.

Yeah its disappointing, but we don't want a repeat of Sri Lanka in Pakistan 2009, is all I'm saying.

Good to see you've softened your stance somewhat on Cameron Bancroft. :P

Or is Lehmann one of the 15?
