Johnson and Hazlewood being rested. Weird that they're keeping an overcooked Starc around though.Did I miss something or did they just drop/rest Johnson?
Exactly. Johnson and Hazelwood have already had 3 weeks off cricket.Johnson and Hazlewood being rested. Weird that they're keeping an overcooked Starc around though.
Ability to reverse it according to Rod Marsh. Then it became a shoot out btwn Patto and Cummins. Trouble is I can't see Fekete competing for a test spot. Patto I can. So despite the reverse swing thing I don't think he should've got in over Pattinson.Andrew Fekete is the selection I don't understand. Guy is 30 and has played only 18 FC games.
Hardly tore it up for Australia A recently either.
What's he done? I don't know anything about him.
Would love that side without SmarshWell it's interesting at least.
Delighted to see SOK back recognised as one of our top two spinners with a red ball. Hope he plays both tests.
Resting Haze and MJ but playing Starceh seems weird. Would have thought it was a great tour for Haze to play.
Usman is as others have noted also a bit strange. He's not been terribad in the Shield just injured mostly, but I'd have thought he should have been further down the pecking order.
I like Fekete, but for sure Sandhu would have been the horses for courses pick for this one. Not that I think either will/would play. I suspect the thinking on Patto might be that these ain't the pitches for him and he's better off staying home.
Glad to see Maxwell picked. I think he's a good shout at playing even if we play two spinners.
I'd say P Siddy and Starc will be the two main quicks and it will be between SOK and Cummins.
Don't have a problem with Bancroft touring, but I hope it's as a development player, not as a likely starter.
Something like:
Burns
Smarsh
TPC
Voges
Maxwell
Mmarsh
Nev
Starceh
SOK
PSiddy
Lyno
would do me.
They did, it was flagged on cricinfo last week.Did I miss something or did they just drop/rest Johnson?
Nah he still took most bowling pace i thinkSandhu took all his poles on the A-tour bowling off spin, didn't he?
How does this affect the thinking of the Australian Cricket selectors for the next 12 months?Yeah Novak is an atg, but 4 out of 23 break points taken and 1 of 11 from 2nd serves, Roger like he did at Wimbledon wasted to many chances.
I understand how a Federer fan would have found that infuriating viewing, so similar to their last 2 Wimbledon finals in how it went down ultimately.
The crowd can **** off as well, nothing wrong with cheering Roger, but complete lack of respect for Novak throughout was disgusting.
What about if you look at it this way?Picking Fekete ahead of a guy like Sandhu is stupid
I know he won't play but that's just a bad selection whichever way you look at it
GS Sandhu 8 15 204.1 40 709 15 4/69 4/105 47.26
AL Fekete 10 17 296.5 69 892 37 5/66 6/67 24.10
