I don't disagree with what you're saying, but it might be worth the Vics having a look to see if there is something in their set up over and above the pressure of pro sport which might be having an impact to some extent.
Could just be the pressure of being in the strongest domestic squad in Australian cricket. Can't be easy.

Well the first day of the big test spot shootout was pretty anticlimactic.

NSW, SA and Pak batting so none of the potential top 6 in action except Smith, who had nothing to prove.

Same with the bowlers with the NSW attack basically being the Test attack (minus Sok) sitting in the sheds.

One thing about Smith batting so slow today. He's really gearing up for a big test series by totally dismissing the recent T20 approach. Not so Warner who will go into the Test having last played a FC match exactly one month prior.

Faulkner seems a misunderstood cricketer
this is correct in the sense he was a bowling all-rounder who wasn't that good at bowling who was kept in the team due to his batting exploits, which seemed good for a bowler but wasn't sustainable

He has to get a run first.
Bryson Street got a 100 1ast game,and 345 on the 2nd xl comp,justifying his selection over Renshaw.

You didn’t have a point was my point. Just saying “ha, ok” and “rightio” is really disappointing. Can you explain your point a little more? Because right now, it’s less than impressive.
Yeah I’m not here to impress you. If you don’t understand something you can ask for clarification. Value add and be polite if you like. There really isn’t a need to be dickish. Why don’t you go back and read the whole post. Including the bits you left out when you quoted it. Might understand something when you don’t cut most of it out.

Sorry, but no way should Renshaw be mentioned in this thread lol
Right now? Perhaps not. But he's not far. Or at least he shouldn't be. He's certainly shown more than either Bancroft or Harris have in their time at the international crease.

Yeah, had to laugh when I saw the discarded Renshaw and Finch both average more than the golden boys Harris and Bancroft

Every effort should be put into working out what's happening with Renshaw and getting him making some runs.

Has played 20 test innings, and has test scores of 184, 71, 68, 60, 45, 44.

23 years old, could form the basis of our batting for the next decade.

Why wouldn't they wait until the A game is over? And Vics/Qld only have 1 day to impress. Good thing Vics are bowling so Pattinson and Siddle at least get to show something (not that Siddle will get picked but he is the incumbent)

This is as good of a side as any we could field.

I've been against the selection of Pucovski in the past but I think this will be the summer to introduce him to international cricket. It's about as low key as test summers get (despite me personally looking forward to New Zealand's tour).

Burns should be back in the Aussie side basically by default. Harris and Bancroft have proven they aren't up to test standard and Renshaw has fallen off. The only other batsman who should be in consideration as opener is Dan Hughes.

Wade made two hundreds in England but I think he was lucky to be given that final test. Head is unlucky but some time in the sidelines should help his game and test him to make sure he's able to up his game. He had the potential to come back and "do a Smith" if he works on his footwork.

Imagine all the idiots we haven't tried as openers for three or four tests too many though.

It will be good to be blooding new guys at six again, rather than as opener or first-drop as in recent years

Ponting and many other champions cut their teeth down at six

The A game finishes Wednesday. Plus vics and qld have 2 days man. Why have you assumed the selection meeting will be in the morning?
