is it worth it if the third spinner is going to be a maxi or swepson? assuming agar is the second spinner in discussion hereIf head continues to **** up and we can't find a #5 maybe we play Hardie+green in India to allow 3 spinners?
1.Warner
2.Usman
3.marnus
4.smudgr
5.green
6.hardie
7.kez
W/3 spinners and Cummins could work.
Swepson is fine even as a 2nd spinner tbh, some posters on here just don't seem to rate him very highly.is it worth it if the third spinner is going to be a maxi or swepson? assuming agar is the second spinner in discussion here
Nah that just unnecessarily weakens the batting. 3 spinners is definitely not necessary and Aus are not going to leave out 2 of CumHazeStarc. If head continues to **** up and we can't find a #5 maybe we play Hardie+green in India to allow 3 spinners?

Would you back head for the home summer or nah? Lad has a fantastic home record, but he's dogdicks away from home and looks in absolutely horrid touch in the shield atm. SA and WI both have incredibly strong attacks and a decent bit of diversity/depth in there options, I don't see head lasting long against them unless we give him a junction oval pitch.Nah that just unnecessarily weakens the batting. 3 spinners is definitely not necessary and Aus are not going to leave out 2 of CumHazeStarc.
Also 2nd spinner should definitely be Agar. Swepson isn't close to good enough and the difference between him and Agar at this level, against India in India especially, is huge.
However the listed team is definitely stronger than having Head in there tbh.
You have to pick Head for home games. He played a couple of the best knocks in recent Ashes cricket last year. You'd have to have rocks in your head to pick him for a tour of India though.Would you back head for the home summer or nah? He's got 95 runs @19 on some fairly decent batting decks where all the other redbacks batsmen have managed to semi consistently find scores and keeps getting out nicking off trying to drive/cut wides ones that he should be leaving. Just don't see him making runs if he tries batting like this vs Joseph-Roach-Holder-seales or jansen-nortje-rabada-ngidi if he's not at peak form. You have to pick Head for home games. I haven't seen much of him in this year but if he truly is in the kind of poor form you are suggesting I guess it is worth considering. The main thing saving him is I don't see any obvious replacements. I would back Handscomb against the pace attack of South Africa much less then I would Head
I mean it isn't great that Head has only really one score so far, but the assertion that the rest of the SACA batting lineup has been clearly better is just not accurate at all. Of the recognised specialist bats (so not counting Manenti here, as brilliant as he has been) only Weatherald and Carey, have reached 50 more than once, and even then it is only two each from five innings. The inability to string scores together on a consistent basis has been a problem for South Australia for far longer than anyone on this current list has been around for. Would %100 percent be picking him for the West Indies tests, but it would be nice to see some more runs before that, as much for his own confidence as anything elseWill have to see what GAS thinks. Unfair to compare Head to the batting master that is Ben Manenti though. Some things are just not achievable.
They've given the new rock to dwarshius in almost every game he's played this season haven't they? Feels wierder that they would give it to abbott over tremain.Little bit odd NSW gave the new ball to Dwarshius over Tremain or Hatcher. Must be backing the left arm variation.
Dwarshuis took the new ball in the first game when Abbott didn't play, was Abbott and Tremain opening up in the second one. Not entirely sure why they went a different way, Tremain did look a little bit off in the first innings, but if I was NSW captain I would have probably backed the more proven Shield performer myselfThey've given the new rock to dwarshius in almost every game he's played this season haven't they?
