It is just absolute idiocy

Ended up buying the Advertiser for once pretty much specificially for the grade scores, even they didn't have them. What a farce
You mean you don't go around the grounds and never miss watching live a game of Grade cricket???

This wasn't a good knock from Doran. Kept Tas out of reach the whole chase and everyone around him had to take more risks and throw away their wickets to make up for it. If they were chasing 220 it would have been a good innings but they weren't and he basically won the game for Victoria
There’s an argument to be made that his 2 recent tons have hurt his team as much as they have helped them

Those kinds of innings are always tough to analyse. On paper at the end of the innings it often looks like they played a lone hand and everyone else failed so they "didn't have a choice" and had to bat that way. Whereas realistically they just put all the pressure on the batsmen at the other end and put the team in an impossible position.

I call it the "the Kallis"

Yeah, they controversially started using a new site which isn't ready. While MyCricket had more bugs than the Amazon Rainforest, the new site is somehow much harder to use and less useful in nearly every way. No-one is really happy with it. You can poke around and see what comes up.

That's weird. You can still get Sydney grade cricket scores on the MyCricket app, but I don't know if it's available outside Aus.

I have the Sydney Firsts link bookmarked because it takes like 12 clicks to actually get to it normally. Farce.

Pucovski is an incredible talent but also a ticking time bomb as he’s one more concussion away from having long term ramifications if not there already

If I was his dad, I would be telling him to find a new career & that’s without considering the mental health aspect

Great to see Ashley Chandrasinghe debut for the Vics, I've heard some great things.
At first impressions, looks a decent player. Neat enough technique, clearly got some patience too.

Looks a pretty slow deck. Bit of movement early on but that has died down somewhat

I haven't been watching it but was surprised Freeman bowled so many overs so early in Hobart.

I think Chandrasinghe is usually an opener for CSM, I was thinking they might actually try Dean in the middle order instead.

Handscomb has found form at the fight time, hasn't he? Leading run scorer last shield season @ 50 and 478 runs and counting in 4 innings this season so far. Has he actually made any technical changes or has he just hit good form?

Edit: Just seen that he's been utterly torrid in county cricket for Middlesex in the same time frame, probably just form if he's still struggling vs pace in english conditions.

He's stopped trying to make big technical changes and just more confidently owns what he's got. A lot of his higher output just comes from how roady his home games have been IMO, but I still reckon he'd be one of Australia's best half dozen bats on a slow but consistent wicket or a spitting turner.

Fwiw Chandrasinghe opened and Dean batted 3 in the first Vic 2nds game when Pucovski was playing, they opened together in the later one though

Seems more a seniority thing than anything else

In all seriousness, he'd be an order of magnitude better than the guy we had at number 5 in the Pak/SL Tests this year, in those conditions.

Whether Handscomb is the guy or not, I just hope the selectors finally develop the balls to apply a horses-for-courses approach for our batsmen when it's desperately needed

Yeah I agree. I've backed Head more than anyone here not named GoodAreasShane but I still agree.

Not watching a single ball of his and by this thread and scorecard alone, I'm going to stake a claim that Chandrasinghe will play 20 tests. ?

Handscomb's had a hell of a start to the Shield. You'd have to think that he'd be on the flight to India at this point.
