Just saw the scorecard from today's minor fixture and can't help coming to the conclusion that Jewell & Silk really let Tassie down by batting the majority of the innings for not enough runs. Pretty **** way to make your first century, probably thinking you effectively lost your team the game by batting too slowly.

So WA is playing NSW again today with Starc still sitting out having played a very stressful four matches in two-and-a-half months. I'm still convinced it's a plot by Langer to let his boys win.

The role of Marcus Harris will today be played for NSW by Jack Edwards, while Daniel Hughes will attempt to fill in as Arun Finch.

Hughes is such a class 50 over player. If it weren't for Finch and Warner being such freaks at the format he'd be well in the mix for a regular ODI spot.

Yeah that won't be happening any time soon. Agree will be difficult barring injury for him to hold down a spot. What odds Hughes I wonder for a shot at a test berth if he has a solid start to the Shield? He seems more compact than other contenders imo, but obviously yet to be tested at the highest level.

Jack Edwards is definitely a talent but his lack of skill in rotating the strike when he isn't totally on song makes him lose momentum in a big way. Something for him to work on I reckon - he's very rocks or diamonds at this stage.

Can't be that bad when Hughes has faced 61 balls out of 90 in the innings so far, strong strike retention from the big man

Some games are kayo only. Cost cutting reasons I imagine. Don't need to pay the random scrub commentators as much as AB and BJ

It would have clashed with the women's T20I which I think they're obliged to show live. This clash happened the other day and they moved the Marsh Cup game to 507 when it did, but today the India v SA Test is on 507. I can see why they decided not to send the good commentators out to show a third cricket game at the same time, and I'm glad they prioritised the Test.
