am disappointed that Sabba has decided to start taking five wicket hauls though. I quite enjoyed Abbott's stat-line of 70 wickets in 50 odd matches while only ever taking more than 3 wickets in a game once

Milenko's dismissal gave me AIDS. 5-80 in 14 overs chasing 240 and still slogging away jfc how about a bit of consolidation boys

and I don't want to hear any "but it's his natural game" they were 5-down and only needed like 4 an over to win ffs

It's his natural game, but.
It's a legitimate defence if he was actually more likely to score runs batting like that than trying to bat "properly", tbh. It may be the case too; he's a complete hack with the bat. I don't think he played that shot because he thought they needed quick runs -- he played that shot because playing that way maximised his chances of making a significant contribution.

And that's what you get when you pick a specialist slogger at #6. I guess he did end up bowling six overs today, but still.

When it comes to Simon Milenko, it's like getting mad a drug dealer for having crack on the menu. You get what you expect.

Worked the other day after all.

Some properly good bowling in that 5-for from Abbott. Much better than the one the other day, that was mostly junk lower order wickets off mistimed slogs

Mackenzie Harvey was fun to watch for a bit. Clearly wasn't picking Qadir at all though (don't think anyone was). I don't want to be one of those guys but seriously is T20 cricket destroying modern batsmen? They're coming in at 4 or 5 down in the 20th over and still taking risks to score at a-run-a-ball. Tassie did it yesterday and now Vics today. It's like they've lost the ability to consolidate and build in an innings, you don't have to be going at SR 100 from the get go every innings.

Isn't it more to do with the young bats not knowing how to build an innings yet. Though there seems to be just a massive lack of awareness in general

Yes. the ability to consolidate, and in FC/Tests, to grind out an innings if need be seems to have largely disappeared, so very few teams seem to be able to bat out draws hence why most Australian tests end in results despite the terrible pitches and balls.

I don't think so, go back 15-20 years and I doubt innings of 22 (22) were common for players on debut coming in at 4-70.

Turns it just enough for Australian players to poop their pants.

Watching White fall for the oldest trick in the book with the drag down was delightful.

Another thing no one seems to be able to do today is pick wrist-spinners. Everyone just seems to play it off the pitch and not even try picking them.

He gives them a lot of loop though, a bit too much for Boland.

I'm liking Coulter-Nile's bowling. He believes in the yorker.
