NSW drops Lenton; Carters to 'keep, Maddo to captain.

Copes recall and no Moises suggests a ridiculous number of bowlers being picked though.

Doug Bollinger (Fairfield-Liverpool/Parramatta DCA)
Ryan Carters (Sydney University/ACT)
Trent Copeland (St George/Western)
Ed Cowan (Sydney University/South Eastern DCA)
Daniel Hughes (Northern District/Western)
Josh Lalor (Penrith/Penrith DCA)
Stephen O’Keefe (Manly-Warringah/Hawkesbury)
Kurtis Patterson (St George/Georges River St George DCA)
Ben Rohrer (Fairfield-Liverpool/Fairfield-Liverpool DCA)
Gurinder Sandhu (Fairfield-Liverpool/Blacktown DCA)
Will Somerville (Sydney University/South Eastern DCA)

1. Cowan

I think Carters will probably drop back to the middle order if he's going to keep, particularly since Hughes is an opener.

You just *know* that they'll drop Rohrer, bat Abbott at 6, and play Lalor too though.
Have NSW ever done that though? I know they always picked 5 bowlers + Moises, but batting Abbott at 6 is basically going full ******.....

They've never replaced Moises with a specialist batsman, ever, and they dropped Lenton because they wanted an extra seamer for the match. If there's ever a game for NSW to go peak NSW, it'd be this one :p

Yeah this. Much as it would be fun to see Dermo Abb00tt at 6 it won't happen. Hopefully Carters can get his season going and forget trying to be a opener. He's plenty young enough to have his eyes on Nev's test spot in a few years time if he's keeping well.

"It's good to see Hughesy really put his hand up," he said. "Apart from making a hundred, he went on to make three hundred, and I guess at the end of the day that's what you're looking for when you're trying to make a Shield team."

Unable to make it to Sydney today, will have to settle for Vic v SA at the MCG.

Keen to see the vaunted SA top order go up against the Vic attack.

Cab driver pulls up on cricket pitch after stray ball smashes windscreen of his vehicle

WE’VE heard of a fast wicket but this is ridiculous.

It was more fare than four after a batsman smashed the ball into the windscreen of a parked taxi during a seniors cricket match in Brisbane yesterday.

The angry cabbie then put a new spin on a straight drive, motoring on to the pitch and parking on the wicket during the start of the second innings.

Play was held up as the driver refused to move until ordered to by police.

The image of the incident at DM Henderson Park in Macgregor was posted on Facebook by Warehouse Cricket Association Queensland.

Mennie bowling well from looks of things on the stream, although the straight ball clearly isn't something Travis Dean is familiar with.
