I suspect Harris will be rested from the tour match as a cert for the test so they want him playing Shield. All the rest are heading over this week and will have the tour match to acclimatise.Only some of the lads are playing. Harris for instance is leaving on Saturday so he can get some bowling under his belt. I think the other chaps may be leaving slightly earlier.
and he's made a huge blunder sending an 18yo and two debutantes out as the top 3 on an overcast morning when he had a test opener available. Blues 3/32 after 7 oversSok's captain
Fair point. He provides ballast if there's some early wickets. Better to be 3/30-odd with Katich now out there to rescue than the same with Kateesh out and Rohrer/Henriques/Nevill to come. Easy even for someone as smoking awesome as Kat to cop a good one early against the new ball.
should have played the mailman
That is better. It's also far less likely to happen than losing a couple of early wickets.Better to be 0/30 with Kat keeping Maddinson's head on and seeing off the new ball. Of course it might have gone the same and yes we'd be in more strife, but I bet the opening bowlers (one with not much experience himself) were delighted that the new boys came out and not the 250 fc game veteran.
Rohrer gone now so we are relying on Henriques and Nevil anyway.
I'm assuming that he's gained a yard or two since a couple of years ago, he was just too "floaty" when he first came onto the scene.Geez, really snorer going on at Adelaide Oval. Bit windy today but you'd imagine good conditions to bat.
Notice Gary 'Minigolf' Putland using short ones a bit more this season. Good to see, hurries on when he gets them right.
Surely. Watched him hurry Maddinson and Hughes occasionally last game. The lack of a short, sharp surprise ball was what stopped Brett Swain from being really gun at state level so you'd think they'd have been on that fairly early for Putland.I'm assuming that he's gained a yard or two since a couple of years ago, he was just too "floaty" when he first came onto the scene.
Over 26.1: Putland to Robinson, no run, OUT, bouncer first up in his new spell, falls over rather than ducks out of the way and it takes the glove to Ludeman - WA 2/56, Robinson out for 7I'm assuming that he's gained a yard or two since a couple of years ago, he was just too "floaty" when he first came onto the scene.
