Australia Vs Pakistan

Well i just saw how the batsmen got out, and you make a good point there, but i also think that the aussie bowlers had this plan to bang the ball in. Two or three players got out playing to rising balls (more of the batsmen's fault) but i think there was a definite plan.

I am really starting to worry abt this batting line, they are faultering exactly when they neede to fire and get spme real confidence going.

There is more to it then just Australia playing well, something is eating away inside....initially i would have dismissed the Youhanna incident but now i think there is soemthing brewing.....hopefully i am proven wrong

Australia is really thrashing Pakistan right now. However, both teams have entered the final and Pakistan being the most unpredictable team in the world, I wouldn't put it past them to come up with a brilliant performance at the crunch.

Anything can happen in the space of 100 overs, it's not so long ago that Pakistan were thrashing the Aussies in their own back yards..

I wonder what the result of the 'Who will win the World Cup' poll would be if we were starting it now?

I think any fair poll would have to put Australia as no:1 favourites.

The order could be:

1) Australia
2) Pakistan & SA
4) SL, NZ & India
7) England
8) WI
9) Zimbabwe
10) Kenya
11) Bangladesh

I realise that I am playing very safe here, but to break up the 2 bunches near the top is too difficult right now. Maybe after the ICC trophy, things will become a little clearer.

I'd put England on a par with SL, India and NZ. On their day, any of those four are pretty equal.

Anyway.. if there was a poll, it would be India hands down...

That would be my list as well, Australia on top with Pakistan and South Africa the threats. SL,Ind and Nz are the second string, true not very sure where england should be placed they are not a bad team!!

Some great news for Pak team, Inzi and Youhanna are out with injuries, Dr Young is gonna examine them and they can take around 3-4 months for recovery, which mean they might even miss the WC!
Anwar is a shadow of the player he once was and Waqar wan't him to quit( wise move considering he was the only experianced player in the team :D)Akram is clever, he doesn't want to be a part of the new look Pak B team which is suppose to take on world champions Australia in test series.
The test team that will take on Aus is gonna be something like this.

Taufeeq Umer
Afridi
Younus Khan
Misbah
Faisal Iqbal
Razzak
Moin
Waqar
Akhter
Saqlain/Danish
Sami

Younis khan is the most senior batter in the team :P, the opening pair of Afridi?umer is probably the weakest ever in Pak history.Waqar's blue eyed boy Shoaib Malik might find a place in the team, he might come in place of a specialists spinner or even replace a regular batter!

It will be 3-0 to Aus, maybe the test matches won't last more than 3 days :D

you shouldn't be happy about injuries, gee.
you should want aussie to win over a top pak team...(i am guessing you are an aussie)

i hope pak win... or more to the point i hope aus lose

Things the Pak management will never do.

1, they will never go in the test matches with six regular batter, even when their 3 main senior batters won't be playing.

2, Will never recall Mohammad Waseem, a highly talented test batsman

3, Will never give preference to specialists players and instead would go with bits and pieces player like Afridi & Malik.

Aus would still have defeated a top Pak team, HOWEVER this Pak team ,i'm afraid, will be annihilated by the Aussies.

Who says Steven Waugh is finished,u are probably going to see Waugh score a double or Triple ton against Waqar's boys!

This has gotta be a conspiracy :(!

The whole side cant have gone down with injuries !!!????

If they had to do this experimenting thing it should have been done ages ago. Thats why i refuse to believe that injury is the culprit.

They cant expect to win with this side, a new team like this is not thrown into battle with the top team in the world. That will demoralise the lads and bring too much pressure onto them to perform.
This is suicide. I have doubt this squad will prove me wrong. They are promising but i think the Selectors (if at all they had a choice) have put one bg step wrong. Seriously i dont know where Pakistan cicket is headed. Any ideas?

Anyway, the new design is looking refreshing...Smilies are looking cool...But i was pissed at seeing the same three sticks again and the ball(preceding topics) i expected that to change. Other than that the cricket web guyz have done a Good job. Well done on taking the website to a new level. This has come at just the right time.

My money's on 3-0 to the Aussies barring rain, and I can't see much of that in Colombo and Sharjah..

The opening pair sould be Imran Farhat and Imran Nazir, and Mohammad Wasim would also be an awesome option if they can recall him. What about Mohammad Zahid, is he fit to play? That would be awesome if he can play, he Mohammad Sami and Shoaib Akhtar with Saqi and Waqar.

Colombo gets tons of rain I think, I'm not sure if this is the season for it.

I read in some Indian newspaper that Waqar Younis wanted Akram out and had informed the selectors as such.Could this have been the reason for all the senior players to feign injury and opt out ?
